It works for guys like Pacquiao and Lomachenko. Flashy footwork is part of their offensive arsenal, but it's not a requirement for success. Look at Inoue. It doesn't look like much is going on, but his footwork is brutally precise and efficient and that's why guys can't seem to evade his left hook to the body even though they KNOW it's coming and coming frequently.
It's easy to miss how good his footwork is because he's so proficient in so many other areas. I thought his footwork showed marked improvement in the 2nd Donaire fight, moving very efficiently and quickly, dancing on the edge of range to draw Donaire into his counters.

Yeah, I agree. His offense, which is sublime, is begins with and is grounded in exceptional footwork.
Loma and it isn’t even close, he probably has the best head movement also. He is definitely the most skilled fighter in all of boxing today, it isn’t just showboating either. Its all effective
People forget that, as impressive as Loma is even up at 135 against all these much bigger fighters who hold huge physical advantages over him, he's supernatural against fighters his own size and ones who aren't two or even three weight classes heavier People hyping the crap out of fighters who are absolutely huge for the weight and fast-tracking them up the P4P rankings for going on leprechaun safari all the time This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected

In my opinion what Loma should have done was stay at 126 and fight ten times a year, beating the absolute stuffing out of the division. He could have made that division his forever.
He really could of. He looked amazing at 130 as well. Should've grabbed a belt up at 135 and moved back down as a lot of those guys at 135 are absolutely huge and weigh 2 or 3 weights more than him and some of the younger ones are going to end up at 147-154 one day. Unifying three belts individually in his third division and one where everyone is much bigger than him was very impressive, especially given he became very injury prone at that weight, but I was never happy about him staying up there. How do you think Teofimo and Haney do up in their third division against even one of the non-champs like Super Boots Ennis? And both, especially Haney, would have to move up even higher than that to be giving away the kind of physical advantages Loma is at 135. Do they even make it out of the first couple of rounds?
