I admit he wasn't as active as he should've been and his pacing strategy was off but the clinching was obviously because he didn't know how to defend against the low blows (he's never clinched like that before in 400+ fights) and the work he did do when he was punching showed his quality. Try the poll after 5 fights.

Loma made two fight losing decisions that night.

    1. When outside he failed to utilize his jab. He virtually had no jab throughout the entire night. If he had used his jab, then maybe, just maybe it wouldn't have been so easy for Saildo to just walk in a land low blows at will.

    2. He decided to hug and dance with a heavy, slower opponent.
I still don't know why he choose to do this. This isn't something he learned in the amateurs and it absolutely made no sense to me.
This bad decision once again allowed Saildo to be in easy range to land even more low blows. The ref didn't call them because Loma was actually assisting Saildo by hugging and grabbing all night.

Naw, at this point in time I see Loma's inside game as almost nonexistent and definitely not worthy of mentioning alongside Mayweather, Ward and Hopins.
    LOL.
At least I stuck Vlad's name up there. Be happy!

I don't know why you think Lomachenko didn't use his jab, he landed it constantly but as with all highly skilled technicians it's primarily used to set up other shots. Look at the compubox numbers, Lomachenko's jab was the most landed punch in that fight. The problem was that Lomachenko would use his jab but before he could get off and fire a shot in an opening he would get low blowed by Salido. That would throw his rhythm off and he'd constantly need to reset by holding and trying to stop the low blow onslaught. A jab can't keep a fighter like Salido off, especially when he is so much heavier. It's things like this you understand when you watch a bit more boxing. That's why it makes no sense to you, because you don't understand what's going on.

Look at the 11th round, the way Lomachenko circles to his right and rips the left into Salido's body, look at the 12th the way Lomachenko steps in with the hook to the body and the uppercut after he stuns Salido, look at the short hooks he throws as Salido is trying to hold on for his life. If you understand boxing you can see these things.

Of those three guys you just mentioned only Ward has an outstanding inside game. Hopkins did when he was younger but now he primarily picks his spots on the outside with ambush attacks followed by a clinch (why is it okay with you when Bhop does it?) and Floyd does everything he can to keep it at mid-long range (we've seen he can't defend so well on the inside - Augustus, Castillo, Cotto etc.).

You putting Wlad up there just shows how much of an idiot you are. I haven't even watched a Wlad fight since the Haye contest, Wlad is the most boring fighter I've ever seen.

Andre Ward for sure, hate that shitty hugging style as well.

Frankly, I'm surprised to see Mayweather gathering votes against the likes of Ward and Hopkins.
There is no doubt that Floyd can fight inside, but I'm positive that he never spends nearly as much time fighting inside as both Ward and Hopkins do.

In fact, as we all saw when Canelo was against the ropes and invited Floyd in, Mayweather didn't respond and preferred to stay on the outside and pot shot him.
