Ken Overlin, middleweight champion, was knocked out in his 165 fight career twice, only once in his prime, and in only 4 rounds.

Middleweight champion Fred Apostoli was stopped only 4 times in 72 fights against a brutally good level of opposition and an aggressive style.

Middleweight champion Vince Dundee was stopped only once in 148 fights, and in only 3 rounds in that KO loss. He was hospitalized for a week following the fight, and while doctors advised him to take 3 months off, he instead took over a year and a half off immediately following it.

Middleweight champion Ceferino Garcia was stopped 5 times in 142 fights. 2 of those stoppages came from the same man. Garcia lasted only 4 rounds combined against him.

Light Heavyweight champion and heavyweight title challenger Gus Lesnevich suffered the worst loss of his career against him, getting eliminated in 2 rounds.

Contenders Frank Battaglia, Carmen Barth, and Baby Joe Gans combined for over 300 fights and were stopped only 9 times total. 3 of them were courtesy of this man.

Of all these knockouts listed, only for Carmen Barth was he older than 25.

It's Freddie Steele, of course. One of the best H2H middleweights to ever lace them up, and an exceptional representation of the boxer-puncher archetype. Sure, it's not THE best from an absolute standpoint, but still a damn good knockout record, especially given how young he was when he was knocking these highly accomplished fighters out, and how brutal most of them were. :deal
