Offensive arsenal means a variety of weapons at your disposal. How good is your jab, right cross, upper, left and right hook etc etc etc.

I think some of you are confusing being efective with two or three good weapons and having the best arsenal.

I would go with Rafael Marquez. He doesn't have the defense that his brother has, but his offensive arsenal is superior.

no alot of people are confusing variety with quality.

Its better to have 2 or 3 weopons that are incredible than 5 or 6 that aren't so good.

Ok, maybe we conceptualize this differently. To me I would rather have Hearns' right hand than the variety of punches of many other great fighters. Much like one military's arsenal can be inferior in relation to its variety of weapons but may have one bomb that is the equalizer.

But, if your speaking about an arsenal being a variety of weapons, maybe I'm wrong.

When he wants to let it go, no one is more able to pick you apart that PBF. And that was the case with RJJ in the past. Too bad they seldom did but we saw flashes of both. With PBF, his recent fight with Hatton and with RJJ, his dismantling of Griffin in their second fight. I can't imagine how devastating RJJ would've been had he been more aggressive.

I said "....how good you are with your jab etc etc etc".

If you are not good at any of those....then you don't have an arsenal. You got nothing.

Knocking out Miranda and Taylor doesn't require a great offensive arsenal. It just requires constant pressure, pretty good power, and a high workrate.

Ask yourself this: how effective would Pavlik's offense be against a fighter with a good defense? Certainly nowhere near as effective as the offense of guys like JMM, Cotto, Calzaghe, etc.

Rafael Marquez is also another very good pick.

Couldn't be more right, they have the best offensive aresenals but seem to be fighters who sometimes have trouble letting they're hands go, opting instead for easy pitter-pat victories. If Kelly can increase his hand speed somehow, I think he would a be an amazing combination of offensive skill and aggressivness.

This is a solid point. Yet he can only beat the best in his own divison, so the jury is still out.

The question is about who has the best arsenal.....it is not about what you or I prefer. I might prefer having the greatest defense and win fights that way....but the question isn't about how I can win a fight.

That wasnt my point. My point was that you can define offensive arsenal in different ways- an arsenal can be strong because of the dominance of one weapon, such as Joe Frazier's left hook. Perhaps a fighter lacks variety, but one trademark punch makes his arsenal dangerous in its own right.
