It doesn’t just pertains to KO power, it can also mean precision, timing, or speed. Or a combination of all of them.

Louis is a fine shout, both in an absolute and p4p sense.

I'll add Julian Jackson into the mix. Speed, precision and timing are all required to KO a boxer cold, how many other fighters have as many clean KO's as Jackson? -

Joe Louis' straight right or SRR's stoppage of Fullmer.

Not sure about the best in history but....
    Bob Fosters left hook
    Rocky Marciano's right
    Larry Holmes jab
Lennox Lewis had a decent uppercut
and for a skinny frail looking fighter Danny Lopez could punch.
    stay safe guys.

I am not sure of the answer to the question. I suppose I frame it thinking if I wouldn't want to get hit by anybody I would say Foreman first, and Tyson second.

Your saying who had the best punch so In this case I would say everyone who knocked out their opponent had the best punch.

In the opening post he's literally given us free reign to make our own decision on criteria. It's right there.

I have named Louis for a combination of everything punching....i think my naming of him makes it obvious i am hybriding it for criteria.

Greg picked up exactly why i chose him and nominated Julian Jackson while giving reasoning as well. Jackson is a great addition as christ he poleaxed some guys with one single punch.

So pick who you want for whatever reason and explain it. Doesn't have to be long as Greg showed.

Thanks,, good post here and I agree Julian Jackson had something special. I think it should be broken down further by weight class if we really want to get specific. Who is that lightweight who killed his wife and then committed suicide? His name is escaping me right now but he had incredible punching power for his weight. I think he had a record of like 26-0 with 26 KOs

    Yeah that's it.

What do you think of his punching power guys? Only boxer in history to have 18 straight KOs in the first round.
