Who has the BEST RESUME of the past 20 years?

I've gone through them both with a fine toothcomb, and although Morales has the best single win of either man (Pacquiao I), I still believe Barrera's resume is fractionally stronger.

 

Fair enough. Oscar is a perfectly valid choice here, strong+deep resume all round.

I won't bother constructing a counter-argument for Hopkins, because I don't feel strongly enough to do so, I can easily appreciate why anyone would place one over the other, I think they are roughly comparable. But I'd like to know your answer on this one: whose best wins are better, Oscar's or B-Hop's?

 

Cotto has less chance of winning than you do of winning the crown of Most Knowledgable Poster, you teenage part-time casual armchair know-nothing *****.

 

Come on Nallege, play fair mate, Floyd isn't in with a chance of winning this, he isn't a legitimate contender. Floyd isn't the only top fighter I have left out, I didn't include Trinidad or Tszyu or Calzaghe or Marquez either. I know you are a Floyd fan, but do you seriously think his resume is as good as Holyfield's, or Whitaker's, or Hopkins's?

If the thread was called: WHO IS THE BEST FIGHTER OF THE PAST 20 YEARS?, I would include Floyd. The choices in the poll would be Whitaker, Holyfield, Hopkins, Jones, Pacquiao and Floyd. No-one else.

I only include people who are in with a realistic shout of winning. I'm sorry, but I can honestly say with my hand on my heart that Floyd's resume isn't good enough to be in the running for best of the last 20.


You are not being objective and lose credibility if you just shoe-horn your favourite fighter into every discussion even if he doesn't deserve it. If the poll question was WHO IS THE HARDEST PUNCHER EVER?, I wouldn't just stick Pacquiao in alongside guys like Julian Jackson, Bob Foster and Thomas Hearns just because I like Pacquiao, because despite what a great fighter he is, he doesn't fit the specific criteria for that thread - and it's the same here with Floyd.
