Ike Quartey: Vince Phillips, Verno Phillips

    Fernando Vargas: Campas, Wright, Quartey

Vernon Forrest: Vince Phillips, Mosley x2, Quartey, Baldomir

    Ricardo Mayorga: Forrest x2, Vargas

I consider these guys to be the 2nd tier of the great welter and light middleweights of the past era, behind Trinidad, De la Hoya, Mosley, and Wright.

Clearly Vernon, although the Quartey fight was a robery.

Mayorga got all the big fish. Sure, he got trampled most of the time, but strangely kept getting the big fights and superstar opponents.

good post. its not mayorga - he should have cracked vargas 5 or even 10 years ago for that to matter when he really was dangerous.

have to go with forrest too.

Mayo-de la hoya, forrest twice, vargas, tito, mosley, spinks, six heads, and piccirillo.
    That's 4-5 hof'ers and 2 atgs. Id say that's not too bad.

It's Vernon, although ironically, Mayorga is 3-0 against guys on this particular list.

none really impresses me. guys who change turns in exposing their number by somebody else. for that reason alone i picked up Quartey. at least he doesn't fall entirely in this category

He didnt beat them all though..the wins and their context are the most important part IMO.
