I agree with this. Id take nobody who fought a broughton rules style of fighting over a modern great, no matter how great he was thought of at the time. But who ranks higher is a different matter.

I read Tunny was green in that fight and was not fully developed as a fighter.

That is the way it was done back then. Johnson used also spar and shadow box the same way.

He was just clowning in those training videos.

A better indication of how good he was is his resume.

So you think they wasted costly film on him while he was 'clowning' and didn't bother using it on authentic training footage?

That is the way fighters sparred and shadow boxed back then.

It depends on criteria, I go on in the ring ability and for me Mayweather is probably much better in that sense, but without footage of Greb we can't know for sure. But he wouldn't lose to a fighter 15lbs lower like Greb did against Bartfield, can you think of a fighter 5 or 10lbs lighter than Mayweather who beats him at his best weight?

Greb obviously has a deeper resume, but it doesn't necessarily make him a better boxer.

Is that even debatable? Its Greb of course.

Floyd is 45-0 in 18 years
Greb was 49-0 in 1919 alone. He did fight cans but he also fought competition of the level that Floyd has never been in the ring with

    No comparison whatsoever
