Both have iron chins but it's really hard to vote against Toney in this challenge even if I dislike him. Hopkins has taken punches even at 48 which makes this difficult. I'll still have to go with Toney, the bombs Peter was landing on him were crazy and he was still there.
Hopkins had an iron chin, and still has a damn good one right now. Toney, though, is more tested. When his defense and reflexes eroded, he was getting hit by guys 100 pounds heavier than the fighters he started out facing, and his chin held up just fine. Both Peter and Rahman could really hit. Even while weight drained, Toney took bombs off of Lebedev. I think it's safe to say he's on a short-list of guys who could qualify for the elite all-time punch resistance class. Toney's my answer, no question.
Toney for sure. Its proven against bigger, stronger guys at Cruiser/heavyweight. Hopkins has a great chin too though.
Toney has one of the greatest chins in the history of boxing. We're talking he is in the convo of GOAT-chin
Both had Iron chin's and impeccable defence. But Toney's has been tested at heavyweight so you have to favour Toney based upon what we have witnessed.
