    Hard to really tell, imo...

People like to overlook the fact that when Wlad was completely gassed and borderline defenseless against Brewster, Brewster was able to land some good power shots flush on Wlad, the same kind of punches that put to sleep plenty of fighters.

I think Wlads chin is underrated actually. Ya, hes not iron chinned by any means but this thought that any power punch is going to be hurting him isnt accurate, imo.

Lewis gets the most ufair scrutiny for his punch resistance of any ex heavyweight champion. People look at the Rahman Ko as proof of some sort of weakness but they fail to recognise that the punch landed was one of the best in the divisions history. 28 year old physical prime 6'2 236 pounder with excellent 82' reach thows a hard well balanced right and lands clean and as square as I've ever seen on the jaw of a monstrous future ATG champion.

Rahman had scary strength. The guy is one of those people that is big for his height. Big structure, Steward said the guy had the biggest hands he'd ever seen and he would have been a monster even in long past era's before the use of weight training.

Tell me one fighter who ever stands up to that punch. Lewis is a badass just for having been hit with it and not getting his **** ruined permanently.

Vlad has the better chin. Vlad has never been knocked out, he was TKO'd, but never KO'd. Lewis was TKO's by McCall and knocked out by Rahman!

Lewis has a good chin. He got hit so hard by Vitali and still survived (although barely, and was going to be put out in the 7th)

Lewis was calmer and took punches pretty well when he could see them.
I would Rate their jaws on same level actually. Wlad got up after sanders best punch which wasn't that light and not that far from what landed on Lewis in Rahman fight. But abillity to take punch is not only Jaw issue and in this department Lewis wins IMO. Wlad took some bombs from haye with ease though. It hard to tell.

Wlad took bombs from Haye!

What fight were you watching. Haye landed one decent right hand in the entire fight and that was in the last round. Every other clean punch Haye landed, Wlad was either moving/leaning back or moving his head to take the power off the punch. Wlad's defence was simply too good in that fight he never took a flush power shot in the entire fight.

you only have to watch lewis v mercer / tucker / briggs / vitali / bruno to know this isn't close.

lewis is easier to catch than vlad because vlad fights so scared. lewis wasn't pertified of being hit, in many of his fights he was happy to go toe to toe.

Exactly what I'm saying. Ability to take punch is not set on chin alone. For example Tompson fight: Wlad took more punches than he did in half of his defenses and did flinch. He knew that tompson can't hurt him and was calm and solid and never got hurt in a fight or was in trouble. In sanders fight he took shots he didn't even see coming and still got up. If you remember sanders was the man who hurt Vitaly badly twice in their fight.
Haye landed good shot's in 3rd and 4th round only wlad came straight back with his. And twelve round wlad got hit with solid shot and wasn't even hurt really. It is true that you can't train chin but you can train neck and plasticity to make fighter take better shots and take most of the snap with head\body movement. In chin department they pretty even but Lewis was more willing to trade. Wlad likes perfect performance so he tries his best not give his opponent any chance.

    Lewis's chin was pretty good.

Wlad's chin is average, or slightly above average.
