Whilst Khan's defence is poor you have to give him some slack for facing elite boxers a couple of levels above Brook's opponents.

I'd say Brook at the moment. But it's important to remember his defence has only been against low level competition. The first time it stepped up against a half decent aggrresive fighter, he almost got put away.

But it defo appears to be better than Khan's. He appears to know what's coming his way.

I'm quite surprised you made the most relevant response to that post. Congratulations.

Oh, and they are not fundamentals. Fundamentals are considered to be foundations, something that you have on a basic level. What you are talking about is a Floyd Mayweather. And if them things are fundamentals, 98% of the world population of boxers, do not have them.

Brook at a lower level. In his last fight he got hit quite a bit. We don't know how much Brook will defend against guys like Judah, Maidana, Kotelnik etc

Brook seems more alert as to what is coming his way and then struggles technically to deal with it. Khan doesn't seem alert to what is coming his way and often trys to execute his skills faster than his opponent and hope to win each scenario/exchange.

brook has more potential defensively but khan has operated at a way higher level so its hard to compare

Khan doesn't have any defence. Simply erratically running away from your opponent and putting ear muffs on, lieing on the ropes is not a form of defence.

For that to be defence you have to have some kind of feeling for what you're achieving with it. Look at somebody like Felix Sturm or Arthur Abraham who use ear muffs. It's a very reactive form of defence but if done right and used for a purpose (which is usually to try and land better quality shots) its okay. Khan doesn't do that, he uses it out of panic and doesn't really have the build to cover his body well.

spot on! Amir joined roach to sort his defensive flaws i out which seemed to work for a while at least but of late hes gone into fight trying to prove hes got a chin but only to get it shattered or end up fighting the wrong fight via trying to prove his point. If Amir didnt let his heart rule and used his boxing brain things might be different.

Brook showed improvements defensively against Jones in the first half of the bout IMO, but I worry about his concentration, I don't think he's that strong, mentally.
