If nothing else tonight should be a showcase of two of the better jabs in the 140lb division and perhaps world boxing as a whole. The jab has always been the focal point of Malignaggis offence and he's used it well throughout his career. His exceptional use of it in his second fight with Diaz pretty much won him that fight imo. He had him at range all night long and prevented Diaz from ever getting into a decent rhythm.

In contrast, Khan whilst always having a great jab, has only began to use it frequently since being trained by Roach. Roach is obviously very big on Khans jab, to the point where he's gone on record as stating that Khan will be Pacquiaos chief sparring partner should Pacquiao ever fight Mayweather, due to his speed and great jab.

So who do you think has the better jab and how important of a factor will it be in determining who wins tonight?

Paulie by miles. Khan has a very mediocre jab. He may have improved it dramatically under Roach as that's obviously something an astute trainer will emphasise for Khan's style, but footage of Khan suggests that it's a weakness. He doesn't really step in or extend it properly, just paw it out there to distract you while he then jumps in and rat-a-tat-tats off combinations.

This is one of the reasons why I think PM could win this - if he can get the better of things from the outside with his jab and reflexes, then tie Khan up before he can fire off his combinations, he has a very good shot.

We'll see. For whatever reason i expect significant differences in both fighters from their last fights(due to them changing trainers). It should be interesting.

    Paulie's jab is better.

The jab is paulies only weapon.
Both have very good jabs but use it for different reasons.
That said Paulie edges it for me because of his experience

Khan KO R10 Paulie using his jab to unleash his 6 punches a second combination

I think Khan is looking at this fight from the "Hatton" angle. He thinks that because Ricky won, it'll be plain sailling for him... Not the case. Paulie's jab was abismal in that fight because Hatton was in close and all over him so he couldn't time the jab correctly or extend properly. Khan is a different sort of fighter. I still think Khan can win but not as easily as some think. I see it going a lot like the 2nd Diaz fight. If Khan does win impressively and by stoppage, then the sky is the limit!
