Hatton did more than Haye, beat a a good few future, former and current fu world champs, snatched a title at a weight above as well. KT beats Mormeck, Enzo and Valuev.

This is really tough one as I see Hamed, Hatton, Benn and Eubank really close. Always a few posts every week mentioning Hamed on both british and general forums. Hatton beat a HOF and only lost fighting the best fighters P4P - but lost badly to them. Haye has great achievements in a weak cruiserweight division, but not much at HW. Benn had some good wins, but Eubank just edges him and would have been hard fight for anyone. All of them are highly regarded in boxing circles, but with Hamed and Haye getting the most stick for their loud mouths, although Hamed did much more and in better style, than Haye.

I think it's a coin flip between Hamed and Eubank for top spot/
Then Benn probably just about edges out Hatton.

 

Legacy: A thing handed down by a predecessor


Eubank set the path for Hamed, Calzaghe and Hatton to follow.

And Hamed set a goal for Hatton and Calzaghe to get - try to beat a hugely-regarded fighter in Vegas.

Calzaghe has set the standard to retire undefeated with a Vegas win over a hugely-regarded fighter.

Benn inspired Hatton and Haye with his style and attributes.


You'd probably have Calzaghe best, Eubank next, then Hamed, Benn, Hatton, and Haye. In terms of 'legacy'.

 

In terms of wins? Eubank's four wins over Watson, Rocchigiani and Benn are very, very good. Benn's two wins over McClellan and Barkley are very good. Hamed's two wins over Kelley and Johnson are very good. Hatton's win over a very highly-regarded fighter in Tszyu was very good. Haye beat Mormeck.

In greatness or whatever I think you also have to look at willingness to take risks and the ability to get up to win. Eubank has the ultimate against Thompson, Rocchigiani, and Watson II. Benn obviously has McClellan fight. Hamed has Kelley fight. Haye got up to win against Mormeck, but didn't take many risks. Hatton didn't take many risks, either (consider Pac and Floyd were little men and Hatton had nothing to lose).

How on earth can you suggest beating Rocchigiani(very, very) is better than McClellan(very)?

 

I'm picking the four wins over the two wins, not Rocchigiani over McClellan.

I see. I think the Benns DeWitt win is better than that myself.

 

DeWitt was quite limited man. Really weak puncher, doubled and trebled his jabs and hooks with no effect on his opponent and squared right up to be hit right back.

Rocchigiani had very good wins against Hamsho, Malinga and Nunn and clearly beat both Maske and Michalczewski. He was a formidable opponent!

 

No comparison to me

 

Eubank's performance against Rocchigiani was far more impressive than Toney's against Prince Charles Williams, in hindsight

 

Now do you really wont to go to the who won regardless of the judges in a debate over Eubank?
How Sherry never won that fight I'll never know.
