Isn't Jones fighting Green next? If so, this is just a lot of hot air at the moment.

Jones imo, he just looked so damn unbeatable on his prime, seriously I'm amazed everytime I see any of the prime Jones fights, no one could touch him.

I agree with your answer of Jones...but keep in mind, Hopkins rarely even lost a single round in his prime. They both were as untouchable as you get.

Like I said, its Jones now, but if the Adamek fight happens...Bernard has the chance to surpass him.

Lennox Lewis was the Heavyweight Champion. Ruiz was a belt holder. Jones beating Ruiz, doesn't make Jones the Heavyweight Champion, it makes him a belt holder. If Jones wanted to be the Heavyweight Champion, he needed to beat Lewis.

Roy made that whole thing very painful to listen to. Bernard was trying to have a sensible conversation but Roy was acting like a immature, desperate idiot who didn't want to listen to reason.

I slightly give the edge to Hopkins currently which can grow to a much wider margin depending on who he fights next and if he beats them (ie: Adamek, Dawson/Johnson.) To me, lb for lb titles don't hold as much weight as some people think it does, but it can't be ignored that RJJ was at the top of the rankings for an amazing 7-8 year run...It's just unfortunate that RJJ didn't have enough elite fighters/potential ATG's in his weight divisions when he was cleaning them out..He unfortunately suffers from fighting mid-scaled fighters for the majority of his career- i believe his biggest wins to be a green hopkins and a dehydrated Toney, wheras Hopkins has basically fought the best now for almost a good decade and winning the majority of those fights, as well as 20 consecutive MW victories...

Hopkins has made it closer in recent years, but the key is that it's been recent years. Hopkins has an impressive middleweight legacy, but recall that as recently as 6 years ago, Hopkins was being questioned for blowing his opportunity to be an all-time great for not capitalizing off his win over Trinidad.

This thing wasn't even close until Hopkins moved up to light heavyweight (which since then has only been three years and four fights for him). Roy's legacy from around 1993-2004 was truly special. It's much harder to remember that when he continues to fight well past his prime. Hopkins has done some ridiculous things of late, though, and is an ATG in his own right, with or without Roy comparisons.

Because Hopkins was THE Middleweight and THE Light Heavyweight champion.

Jones was NEVER THE champion in any division he fought in.

Matter of fact, he has NEVER beat a unified, linear, or undisputed champion in his whole career.

Hopkins passed Roy a while ago look who Hopkins has been fighting and look who Roy has been fighting. It is like comparing a Ferrari to a Ford Escort.

James Toney wasnt the best?? ROFL

He beat everyone apart from reluctant Dariuz (who got beat by the great Julio Gonzalez...who got schooled by Jones)

Hopkins is great but Jones was sensational

If you don't consider Roy to ever having been the light heavyweight champ, you must be using the criteria that makes Erdei the current light heavyweight champ, meaning Hopkins has never been the light heavyweight champ as well.
