Who has the better LHW resume - A Stevenson or J Braehmer?

2 of the older LHWs who have been champs for a while now.

Stevenson is the WBC LHW champ and at LHW fights has beaten Dawson, Cloud, Bellew, Fonfara

Braehmer is a 2 time LHW champ and currently the WBA regular champ and has been the WBO LHW champ (didnt lose title in the ring) and at LHW has beaten undefeated Kuziemski, undefeated Sukhotsky, Gutknecht, undefeated Oliveira, Maccarinelli, Bolonti (who Bute is fighting next)

So who has the better resume between the 2 LHW champs. Dawson was coming in off a KO loss and Cloud coming in off a clear defeat, but Maccarinelli has suffered bad defeats before facing Braehmer

So who has the better resume?

    Why clear?
Sure you may know the names Cloud and Dawson better than Gutknecht or Sukhotsky, but they were fighters coming off losses and we saw how Dawson lost to Karpency and Cloud to a very novice fighter, not to mention both coming off clear losses

Stevensons LHW career is brief but in terms of quality his resume is clearly superior - though his wins over Dawson and Cloud have both lost a little of their lustre in the wake of subsequent events (Dawson vs Karpency, Cloud vs Beterbiev).

That's not to say Braehmers resume is bad - in fact it's very solid, just lacking in big names / title level fighters.

TBH I think Braehmer vs Stevenson would be a very solid, competitive fight - Braehmer is actually a very skilled fighter; a crafty southpaw who has proven to be durable (though I don't think he's faced a puncher of Stevensons calibre) and despite the KOs having fallen off in recent years is more than capable of hurting his opponent.

To be blunt if Fonfara can give Stevenson problems, Braehmer has a shot at the win - although admittedly at 175lbs Fonfara seems to have the better power.

Seems a good honest post. How highly did you rate the respective wins over Dawson and Cloud coming off losses?

Adonis is the champion of Herolgee's people.

The best fighter and uncrowned king of the division is Sergey Kovalev. If you wanna judge the quality of the div. Watch sergey.

I think Kovalev is the leading man with wins over undefeated champ Cleverly and unified champ Hopkins, as well as Campillo who many felt beat IBF champ Cloud and many felt beat Shumenov when WBA champ. All were beaten soundly by Kovalev

    not even my champion. wrong

not even a champion, hes a title holder. wrong.

me a massive ko4clev fan, so you are wrong there too.

but fret not, pal, despite being wrong on many levels, there is a good part of your post -

I was one of those arguing (at end of year honours time) that Kovalevs 2013 resume was just as good as Stevensons for that specific reason - Dawson probably still being the single biggest win but with several questionmarks (as were expressed by many at the time) over how much the Ward loss (asskicking) and weight changes had effected him.

Cloud obviously was not just coming off the Hopkins loss but also the Campillo robbery but was still seen as a solid win since he had at least previously beaten a coupla of decent 'names' (albeit past it ones) in Johnson and Woods - my argument though was pretty much...

    Cleverly > Bellew
    Campillo > Cloud
    White > Boone

Dawson > Sillakh (though actually I'd like to see that fight - Chad ain't much of a puncher and I reckon Sillakh has the skills to beat most guys if he doesn't get caught - of course they're both at Cruiser now so you never know).

WRT to Braehmers resume though, even the semi decent and unbeaten / nearly unbeaten names on it didn't really have any significant wins of their own (also the same kinda retroactive downgrades as can be applied to Dawson and Cloud for their recent performances can be applied to guys like Sukhotski - on paper possibly Braehmers best victory - who subsequently lost to White).

On these grounds I still have to consider Stevensons resume superior even though it lacks depth and is far less impressive than the initial name recognition might make it seem.

Also FWW, I don't know if I've mentioned but I'm one of the few who actually gives Sukhotski an outside chance against Stevenson - the guys a bit sluggish, but he really can bang and has shown no real signs of being hurt to date.
