Who has the better middelweight resume, Hopkins or Hagler?

Hagler's win over Hearns or Leonard (he did win dis one in my book) are a far better achievement than Hopkins's entire career. And I am a Bernard's fan.

 

Money Mayweather is better than both. Both guys have loses and mayweather has how many losses?????

 

Why does the fact that Hearns and Leonard fought at welter and moved up mean that those wins dont count? They were both world champions at middleweight, they were even world champions at higher weights than middle. You've added some arbitary condition to suit Hopkins.

 

This thread was about who beat the better TRUE Middleweights. SRL, duran, Hearns, Trinidad, Mugabi and DeLa Hoya were fighters coming up in weight.

 

With the criteria you laid out it's about even. If you were to factor in everyone they faced at MW including people moving up etc... Then Hagler gets it easy, not even a comparison. But again I based this answer on the criteria you laid out. Everybody with a huge argument that it wouldn't be at least close one way or the other is not reading the actual first post, just reading the subject.

 

Two great fighters, but Hagler is one of my all-time favs, so I'm a bit biased.

IMO, Hagler was more aggressive, & had better accuracy (maybe the best ever?)

He was also simply more fun to watch. That has to count for something, yes?

 

Hagler, is the greatest middleweight ever. Hopkins resume is not even close.

 

Using your own post, it's not close.

And those aren't Hagler's best wins.

Any one of Hagler's top four wins is superior to ANY of Bernard's MW wins.

 

Hagler most definitely has the better resume. His win against Hearns is better than anything Hopkins has.

 

Talking MW resume, Haglers is definitely A LOT better.
However, this is a bit unfair to Hopkins since many of Hopkins best wins and achievements have come since he moved up in weight when he was a relatively old man already.

 

Talking of resume, Hagler has one of the best of all-time. To have 3 all-time greats on your resume is something of an amazing achievement. Hopkins unfortunately does not have any while fighting in the middleweight division and the only one he did fight (RJJ), he lost to....
