I remember when Roy was at the top of his Game. I would hear most ppl always bash on Him about the Not facing the BEST fighters out there ALTHOUGH there was no one left for him to fight.

Now that joe beat the Kessler. Joe C. is all a sudden getting all this respect for fighting ONE Good boxer, that was in prime in his whole reign as champion. Iam not saying joe c isnt a good fighter,But not in Roys Level. Now their was talks about Joe Fighting Cliton woods, one ever bashed on him for talking about maybe making him as his oppenent. When Roy fought him everyone was saying he was ducking the best.:bart

Anyways Who do you think has the better resume? BETTER FIGHTER?

Certainly Jones. Wins over Hopkins and Toney constitute a much better elite-level resume than Calzaghe's.

haters paradise of a thread, ovbviously it is roys .

but in defense of joe, 168 was and has been a european dominated division for 10 years be it joe or ottke and america has produced no one able to beat them .

not a single big name be it
odlh/jones/hopkins/trinidad/wright /etc etc was ever intrested or called out joe to either step up in weight or come up to meet him at 168 whereas at every weight below or above 168 the big name fighters have been yo yoing like mad between divisions.

to put it in perspective, glen johnson and syd vanderpool were the only 2 ever fighters on hopkins middleweight record in 10 years to have a title shot and they both proved to be average fighters at 168 johnson being outboxed by ottke and vanderpool being ko`d by lacy and berrio.

Better fighter H2H - Roy by a small margin. Both are extremely talented, Roy is a greater natural athlete, but Joe is more relentless, maximizes his dominace more than Roy.

Better resume - about even, Hopkins and Toney are big names, but this is also due to marketing and this delusion that US fighters are inherently superior. I would say that Kessler is a more dangerous opponent than Hopkins. A weight - drained Toney and a past - prime Eubank look the same to me.

China_Hand_Joe.. is that you? I think it's very clear Jones has the better resume as of now and is better H2H than Calzaghe. The only way Joe's resume could become better is if he beats Dawson and Chad ends up having a very succesfull career and becomes considered a great fighter (and same for Kessler).

I'd say Jones. Calzaghe has a good resume but Jones is superior.

I just feel that Joe is still not getting the credit he deserves, much like Roy some years ago. That destruction of Lacy was something else and Lacy was not just an overhyped bum, he was an undefeated title holder who might have had an impressive career if Joe hadn't ruined him. And I believe that Kessler will turn out to have an absolutely brilliant career. Kessler is to Joe what DM could have been to Roy, unfortunately they never met.

    Y'all must've forgot...

...that after some of his wins RJJ was considered as THE P4P best EVER which was of course a little bit of overstatement. But in the tearms of skills, wins, and the WAY OF WINS he has to be better than JC in EVERY comparison exists. He's even better than Mayweather but at least a 100 articles was written about that just this year. As a fighter over the top, in these years Roy Jones Jr. is destroying his own legacy but even with the horrible KO losses he just can't ruin his accomplishments. And a win over Tito would be a great page in his history book even if we know that Tito is no way a challenge to a top-form Jones, not at 170 pound, not even at 168. But 50 years from now the history books will write that Jones was over the top after the HW win, should've retired then but (if) he finishes his carreer with a win over Tito that will be a great happy ending. If...

I agree - Roy is perhaps the most talented boxer ever. However, if Joe would have had American media exposure, he would be regarded much higher than he is. To me, Joe is only slightly below RJJ in talent and accomplishments, not by a huge margin.

Whoever voted for Joe C is either CHJ or Amsterdam.

    Silly question.

Jones - middleweight, super middlweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight champion.

Calzaghe - super middleweight champion (when he beat Lacy NOT when he won the WBO title)

I think this sums it up nicely. Jones easily.
