The top 10 p4p topic sums up the thoughts on Calzaghe. He will never get the respect and never will, UK fighters never do.
Eubanks 67, tailor made Lacy and overhyped Kessler FFS (all world champs lets add) just about says it all when it comes to disrespect.
Calzaghe is Unbeaten in his pro career and will remain that way. Who else is going out like that?
Jones has put on the shows, actually superb displays back in the day but nothing like when Calzaghe took apart Lacy(the next Mike Tyson we was told) it`s just to easy to kick a man when he`s down and out innit?
The Kessler fight was`nt a masterpeice but fighting another world champion 7 yrs younger that noone else wanted to meet, c`mon! Smell that coffee. Know one from the states wanted to line up to fight Kessler, only Calzaghe, to which Joe responded, then kicked his ass.
Perhaps Jones might have won along time ago against a young Calzaghe, but his days are gone and it`s been Joe Calzaghe ever since. Even fighting with 1 hand.
Roy shouldnt have moved up the weights cause the bigger fresher boys knocked him about, but i`ll give him mad respect for that and winning the belts puts him up there no doubt. The world of boxing would`nt be the same without Roy but you Calzaghe haters don`t know ****! You really don`t!
Joe`s going to be leaving the sport head held higher than most, record intact and alot of jealous boxing fans just can`t accept that.
