I Feel sorry for Nathan

 

Ripped apart where? show me one boxing thread where the general opinion is that it's a **** fight?

It's not a great fight, maybe not even good but it's certainly an ok one at this stage of his career plus his mandatory too and i expect it to be entertaining like the Karo Murat fight was.

 

Froch is at a totally different stage of his career to Cleverley plus he's nearly 10 years older then Nathan. It's pretty clear to anyone that Clev still needs some seasoning yet before he goes in against the very best at Ligh Heavyweight so getting some more experience facing guys like Krasniqi is no bad thing. I agree that fights against Karpency and Hawk were terrible and Frank deserves the **** he got for making them fights.

The big fights will come for Nathan, infact Richard Schaefer confirmed that Frank wanted Hopkins-Cleverley in July but it wasn't possible due to Hopkins having to fufill his mandatory with Karo Murat first.

 

Anybody know why Hopkins is taking this fight?

He's at the stage where belts don't mean much and if he was to drop the IBF and fight Clev he'd be fighting for the WBO anyway, can't fathom why he's fighting Murat.

 

Not sure...i do know he mentioned about fighting 3 times this year so maybe he just thought he'd pick up some good money for an easy defence against Murat and then look at a unification fight later in year.

No one's gonna pay to see him fight Pascal or Dawson again and i doubt Shemenov brings any money so his only real option at Light Heavy is either Cleverley or Bute if he beats Pascal.

 

Thought Hopkins made 750k for that?

 

thats true but if we are gonna keep getting these low key ones (been a few now) + prizefighters I'd have rather them kept to one show a week
