Where is that beat a dead horse gif when you need it. One win was over an Undefeated fighter ...the other win was less impressive. You know there is a reason no one remebers the name of the second man to walk on the moon.:blood
STOP with the "better weight" B.S. Fight-time weight is more important in this case. Hatton, like most JrWW, is not going to be weighing in at 140 on fight-night, is he? His weight is around 149. Guess who else is 149....FLOYD MAYWEATHER. What do fighters have to do in order to make weight ? They drain their body of fluids for the scales and then try to rehydrate in time for the fight. What happens to fighters that can't rehydrate properly ? They feel drained for the fight. So are you saying that fighting at 147/WW would be healthier for these fighters since they would have to take off less weight ? YES, I am kind sir. Yes I am. The Fight is now actually healthier for both fighters. And before you mention Hatton's fight for the title at WW, also remember he made the mistake of increasing his weight beyond his normal state which he learned from and did not repeat for Floyd. And also remember it was Hatton's fault for not fighting Floyd down at jrWW when he could because..."Ricky is not ready." I actually think Ricky is lucky. The version of Floyd down at 140 threw a lot more and seemed faster all around. Floyd showed Hatton can be broken down and Knocked out. That said...what Pac did was Incredible and more exciting than Floyd's fight. -___
He actually looked bad against Lazcano. And Paulie is...well...not that dangerous. Roach actually said Floyd took something out of Hatton.
Considering the way Hatton used to abuse his body internally with drinking and excessive eating id say the version that fought mayweather was better and presented more of a challenge. People are too quick to buy into hattons excuses after the mayweather loss. "Oh it wasnt at my natural weight" Ricky was so used to ballooning up and down in the weights 140 was probably killing him anyways but he only fought once at 147 so its hard to accurately estimate how the weight effected him. Also Pacquiao fight, Floyd sr trained hatton and showed up late to training sessions, Floyd sr was never that good a boxer let alone a trainer. Im going with Mayweather purely based on Ricky being younger and coming into the fight undefeated against much stronger opposition at the time than a lack luster performance and against paulie malignaggi. Urango and Collazo were much more dangerous opposition at the time (not counting the castillo win due to it being at 140) In fact Mayweather wins in the common opponent section, Fought the better versions of all fighters but didnt look as impressive as pacquiao due to his defensive style. thats what fools a lot of people in the boxing world, they rather see a guy knocked out than lose a decision
pac, no doubt. hattons loss to floyd at a weight where ricky hadnt done a damn thing, was not nearly as bad as cottos 2 world class ass whoopings, yet all of a sudden cotto is better than he was before those beatings, according to some anyway. can anyone say contradiction.
theres all these situations surrounding the 2 fights, so based on performances/results/odds alone- pac by a landslide
You mean Buzz Aldrin? Just see who Hatton was the bigger underdog against and that should tell you something. I don't know off the top of my head but that would give you something to compare. Prolly Floyd
*****s: But in Cotto's case, Floyd fought the better version of Cotto (already bludgeoned by Margarito and Hatton) and has a better win than Pac's win. atsch
Just like *****s said Cotto was already damaged by Margarito and Pac before the fight was signed? And now they say it's a better win? atsch
Pac's win is much better. Hatton Struggled at 147 against Collazo and was never comfortable at the weight. Hatton came back down to 140 and gave Paulie a beating. Hatton troubled Mayweather in the early rounds and won a couple. Hatton just got brutalized from the get go against Pac. He had no chance leading up the devastating KO punch. Mentally, Hatton probably felt like he won part of the battle against Mayweather. He was able to make a comeback and beat Paulie easily. After the Pac KO, his heart and mind was gone. Drinking, cocaine, contemplating suicide...now that was brutal.
