    r.e: st pierre and silva...

2 wins over hughes and penn

    or

2 wins over franklin and henderson (assuming the spider beats him again)

hypothetically speaking say anderson again beats henderson, which do you rate as the better victories?

personally id have to go with st pierres simply because i rate hughes (in his prime) as the better fighter, more dominant and p4p higher in ATG terms..

henderson and penn are hard to seperate, 2 atg p4p masters i rate them pretty much evenly though henderson is knocking 40 so i have to give the edge to penn when considering the wins.

GSP has the better wins and the better resume imo.

    GSP.

GSP has a strong list of contenders on his resume too. Alves, Fitch etc are to be respected.

Outside of GSP, Hughes is the best 170 ever and Penn the best 155. Franklin and Hendo aren't the best 185 and 205 ever.

You could throw Sherk on GSP's list because he has to be a all time ranked 155.

Why? Isn't he like 3 or 4 - 2 at that weight class with wins over Florian and Franca and Griffin and losses to Edgar and Penn? He's a good figther and a good win for GSP definitely, but am I mistaken by saying he spent his entire career at 170 until he lost to GSP?

GSP unfortunately, though Henderson is a better win than anything he will ever achieve imo, unless he actually beats Silva at some point.

Names, GSP has a little edge, very little. Dont forget that Silva has gone up in class and has been no less devastating .

As far as destruction and taking away someones manhood, Silva by miles.

So Silva has the better wins

Didn't GSP take Hughes and Penn's manhood? Especially Hughes. I'm sure Hughes calls GSP Pimp Daddy now.

I would have to give it to Silva. Only because the natural size difference between Penn and GSP is too much. Also having to take into consideration GSP's loss against Hughes when Hughes was closer to prime, and GSP's serious struggle with the much smaller Penn in their first fight.

Penn beat the second best 170 ever so the size difference clearly an issue for him unless you are good enough to make it so (but ain't that always the case). GSP struggling with Penn in my eyes gives Penn more props rather than less.

No, not really. Hughes was past it in the second fight. Heck He was past prime even with the second BJ fight. You put a Hendo in the same state as Hughes was in the GSP/Hughes 3 against Silva and you'll have a manslaughter in your hands.

Penn was smaller than GSP, no one with eyes can deny that and yes BJ was that great not to be Koed or even submitted. I mean GSPs face was busted even by fitch who has lousy striking.

If you put Silva with GSP, I guarantee all you non believers..the Brazilian embassy would personally apologize to PM Harper on behalf of the brazilian people.

Better wins??..again lets redefine..when you make great fighters (Hendo) and good ones (Franklin, Nate, Griffin) look like TUF rejects, thats better wins. Better names so far GSP by a hair.

I think it's GSP. The fact that GSP lost to the best he beat should be considered, but so should the fact that he wasn't at HIS best when he lost to them. Once he caught his peak, he dominated them the same way that Silva has dominated his top opposition. I just think Hughes and Penn are more equal challengers to GSP than Franklin or Hendo is to Silva, in totality.

How does a past prime Hughes bordering shot (see Alves, see Lyttle) and a LW compare to a Prime champ Franklin and a still prime (not peak) two org champ ATG Hendo? Please explain?
