    Joe clearly.

OK, I'll explain - and this goes for comparisons between any fighters.

    ____________________________________________________

If we line fighter A's opponents up from best to worst with the best to the right and the worst to the left then we would get a line like this:

    Minimum level______________w w ww w ww ww w w X l w l l w l______________Maximum level

Usually a fighter will have beaten the ones to the right but towards the right losses begin th happen signifying to us that the limit or true level of the fighter is around there. Perhaps the fighter has lost to most to the right of the X and won over most guys to the left, then the level of the fighter would be aroudn where the 'X' is.

    Now compare these two fighters:

    A Minimum level______w w w w w w ww w l w w l w wl w wll l l wl l_______Maximum level

    A Minimum level_____w w w ww w w wwww w w w w w w w w w________Maximum level

Where would you put the 'X' for these two?

In other words where is the limit (true level) of each fighter?

And been knocked the **** out by some of them. I like Wlad and he is underrated but this isn't close. Remember... losses DO count, and Joe doesn't have any of them.

So... hmmmm.... that would mean that Roy has a GLASS TEMPLE???

    Seriously, good point.

And to answer the thread's question, I'd go with Wlad, simply cause he is willing to fight ANYONE and he's proven that.

everybody in history tells it like it is, you can't remain undefeated your whole career if you fought the very best consistently, and i believe this to be true

BS and Calzaghe´s career shows that. In what time of his career did he fight the best around or at his weightclass. Beeing undefeated means **** when you not fought the best of your time.

The point is that even if fighter A has met better resistance, the smart money is on fighter B because the 'x' will be to the right of the limited (literally) fighter 'A'.

Klitschko because all of the top guys he fought were still in their prime, while Calzaghe is trying to get his name fighting washed up has beens.

Calzaghe has only really beaten one top level fighter in his prime in Kessler, and other than that all he's ever really done is beat on an untested up and coming prospect.

That would be like giving Klitschko credit for beating a forty year old Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield.

Can you give us some examples of the names of people you are taking into account here? Ie. who are the 'top guys in their prime' that Klitschko beat that most impressed you?

What the hell has it got to do with Kessler?

Although you've raised an important issue. That win for Calzaghe is more impressive than anything on Wlad's.

The thread-title says "resume" but the poll says "legacy". To me, these are different things. Which is it?

However, as of now, I say Calzaghe has both the better resume and legacy. Regardless of what Wlad has achieved, he has been stopped three times by mediocre opponents. That fact simply cannot be ignored.
