I can't see Froch loosing to Johnson, too fit, too powerful and better boxing ability. Now i still don't think Ward beating Abraham is a foregone conclussion. The reason he didnt step in last night and let his hands go i think was because Froch's shots were hurting him, especially to the body and he was outclassed and beaten up by better boxer. Ward is technically good but does he punch hard enough like Froch to command Abraham's respect. I dont think so. Abraham will have to bully and impose his will on the light punching Ward and take more chances. He might take a few shots but if he catches Ward he could knock him spark out. And ward isn't a runner like Dirrell, he's there to be hit, AA needs to let his hands go though. The Americans are on the brink of orgasm when they talk about Ward. He fights very negative and a real puncher with better ability than Bika could give him hell.
Ward does, i havent seen the Bika fight yet but im convinced that Froch coasts past Johnson if he sticks to boxing and could even take him out of there before the finishing bell.
Pretty biased reading of things I'm afraid. Johnson is just as likely if not more so to cause Froch problems than Abraham is Ward.
Terrible fight. No clean boxing, full of tieing up, Ward holding Bika's left arm and blocking the left side of his face so Bika can't him with the right then Ward hits him with the free arm. Tha was it, constantly and Ward tied up the most. Ward does it, the americans say its ring smarts. Hatton does it, they call him a dirty fighter.
Bika was a dirty ******* too, there was nothing wrong with what Ward did in that type of fight. If the ref ain't gonna punish it you've got to give as good as you or risk getting run over.
But Ward was constantly tieing up. Watch when he throws a left to the body, he's already stepping in and grabbing Bika around the waist with his left arm, its bull****. He never gets pulled up over it because in his last few fights he has almost always had a californian referee.
Ward didn't look awfully special last night. But considering the problems Abraham had with Froch's movement, Ward should be able to keep the Armenian turning all night for a wide points win. Johnson will pose Froch lots of problems over the first half, but Glen was getting tired against Green. I expect a competitive first half before Froch controls the remainder.
Nothing to do with the Californian ref I'm afraid. Holding does not seem to be heavily clamped down on. Hatton made a career out of getting his work off on the inside and then holding so he doesn't have to reset. John Ruiz is possibly the most reknowned holder ever, and he fights in this era. It's just the way it is, I've criticized it myself in the past and would like to see it stamped out but it ain't happening.
Johnson is no walk in the park, but Froch should as someone has already said be too young, too fit, and just too good for him. If Abraham can get into the fight he can obviously cause Ward problems but he needs to adapt his style otherwise Ward will just do what Froch did to him. Looks like a Froch vs Ward final, how do people see that going???
