It was it wouldn't really have done much for Joe and could have been draining the whole getting up to fight a jumped up prospect
And it could have been detrimental to frochs progression
Never really looked at it like that
But that's the selfish fight fan in me
I wanted froch after groves 2 to fight kov Stevenson and aye shyte I forget the last ah ggg in reverse order sorry about that

You are correct in what I was thinking.
At that time Froch was very green and Calzaghe facing undefeated unified champ Kessler in a big unification, LHW champ Hopkins and legend Jones, all of which I felt at that time were bigger tougher fights than unknown British champ Froch imo.
I dont think fans would have seen Froch have such a good career had he had that fight at that time.

From interviews I watched over the years, I never got the impression that GGG wanted to face Froch.
I remember when asked he implied about possible future opponent but I didnt get the impression he was looking to move up (and nor should he feel he has to).
I always felt GGG would struggle at SMW due to size and build.


I never felt Froch wanted to go near LHW either, I seem to think he mentioned about them being bigger than him (could be wrong)
