Once upon a time, it was Fedor. Technically, its a mess but he mixes it well and is very effective with what he does.

Can't really think of anyone off the top of my head though.

There's a ton of PRIDE fighers that would disagree with this. If you're comparing Fedor's striking as a boxing purist then your wasting your time. For MMA Fedor's striking works beautifully. Notice the similarity's between his an Igor's striking. Igor was noted as a striker because of his kick boxing background. But both Fedor and Igor had similar striking styles (less the kicks of course). I would never say Fedor's striking could ever be underrated. As P4P he has to be one of the hardest punchers from within guard. Don't believe me? Watch he's fights with prime Nog.

    Gegard Mousasi.

He has proven it time and again even in k1, Gegard is probably the most proven striker in the lightheavyweight division at the moment.

He may have been able to outstrike Melvin Manhoef but he played it safe/smart and took it to the ground.

he is a guy I could see beating shogun rua, that fight is a long way off though if ever. lyoto machida would be intersting opponent to see against him.

I say Mousasi outstrikes dan henderson, rampage, and thiago silva with ease.

off topic but I enjoyed this exhibition fight.

Barnett is a fighter who's striking is underrated. He's boxing has got a lot better over the years. Especially since the PRIDE days.

Mir fought both of them when they were geriatrics. Im not interested in Mir's win over two fossils who were well past their best.

you know I am joking scurla... right?

But if I worked for zuffa I could make an exiting(bull****) argument of how mir is one of the greatest heavyweights ever, including one of the best mma strikers ever.

    it would be fun.

Good call with Mousasi. I'd love to see him fight Agent Anderson

that was a fight I wanted to see when mousasi was at middle but it could easily happen at lhw.

Mousasi will probably join the ufc at some point in his career, it would probably be after silva retires or is on his way downhill skill-wise I mean.

Mousasi is way underated in general, after his loss to king mo everybody seems to dismiss him as a top lhw when being lnp'ed can happen to the best in any division.

He could work on takedown defence but his striking is very good.

Im not sure he will. Gegard does very well outside of the UFC and likes to fight in multiple promotions including the K-1. As long as the K-1 is i dont see him in the UFC at all. If ever.

There goes a chance to be considered an elite fighter in MMA then because if Strikeforce has one **** division its the Light Heavyweight divison.
