For those of you that have watched a fight at Madison Square Garden, can you give an opinion on whether it's worth it to sit in the cheap seats? I'm interested to know if the action can even be followed from that distance, or if you end up watching the fight on the big screen anyway.

If the nosebleeds aren't a good option, can you recommend the minimum tier I'd need to be in to be able to follow the action in the ring?

I really don't think theres a bad seat in the house at MSG. Mid seats are great. Never sat all the way up, though. Just bring a good pair of binoculars & its like your standing right in the ring!

I saw Ruiz vs Golota at MSG.

BTW, if the fight isn't sold out, you can always move down into a better seat.

Saw a friend compete at golden glove finals at msg.....

They didnt use the whole venue, just a part of it.. Atmosphere was cool, lots of betting over petty cash being made :yep

I was in the teir after ringside seats.....

It wasnt full, so we moved down to the best seat we can find in that teir... So wat the above poster said is true... No one cares if you move seats, security is just looking out for drunkards trying to start fights...

Dont know if its the same at a big time title fight though

Dont get the nosebleeds though, it will defintley be hard to watch the action as there was no big screen or anything avaliable... Dont know if the same correlates to the big time fights tho, and the seats are pretty damn far up....

Be ready for angry old italians or drunk hispanics :yep, **** can get really crazy fast

Depends on whether the fight is in the main arena or in the theater. There isn't a bad seat in the theater. Nosebleeds aren't too great in the arena itself - the boxers are so small at that point that you're basically watching the fight on the screen above.

We went to see Calzaghe v RJJ at MSG, and bought the cheapest tickets we could find. They turned out to be the very last row at the back. We had a wall behind us!

The view was fine, and we'd have been happy to watch it from there. However, we saw some empty seats much further down about mid-way, so we snuck down and sat in them!
