You just pretty much nailed it. Its a chess match. Pacquiao's element isn't chess. I doubt he even thinks in the ring. He just throws. Watch the Clottey fight. He threw the same repetitious combinations all night long. He couldn't do anything to open up Clottey and walked out of Cowboys stadium more busted up. Manny is more of the line of checkers. Bang, bang, bang isn't happening against Floyd who is a way more superb counter puncher and sorry a real chess master. This isnt tic tac toe. Its a thinking mans game. Pacquiao has never once played chess. I'msure Manny will try something new but he'll revert back to his bang bang bang combinations when it doesnt prove sucessful. This man is most sucessful while exchanging where his hand speed gives him the edge. Theres nothing complicated on how Pacquiao fights. He's quite simplistic to tell you the truth.

Your comparing an orthodox fighter to a southpaw. It's not even relevant honestly.

watch this highlight with zab judah:

Notice, where is the lead left hooks that Floyd usually throws? Where's the shoulder roll? Where's that pull back counter people talk about? It isn't there because that stuff doesn't work on a southpaw. All the punches come from different angles. Floyd has to stand more upright and use a regular guard.

Also consider the fact that he throws just about as many punches as Josh Clottey. He's going to be looking for one right hand at a time while Manny is unloading combinations. The fact that Pacquiao is a southpaw with superior hand and footspeed will be a big factor.

Floyd's also gonna be on a year layoff and rusty. He already looked a bit sloppy against Mosley. Take all these things into consideration and not just the fact that he's undefeated.

I somewhat agree, I think Roach has a great plan for this fight. Its Floyds output thats going to cost him, esp if Pac eats his counters and smiles. He just needs to be patience when he gets Floyd backing up and not blow his wad coz Floyd is hard to take out.

Pac is peaking also like you say..Hes still at the peak of his prime with unparalleled momentum

I'm glad youre finally trying to step your game up. I dont even need to watch the clip to tell you what Floyd did to Zab and what he does to every southpaw he faces. The lead left hook doesn't lead anymore. He throws the straight right then the left hook which is quite brilliant. You watch Corley,Zab, and I forgot but Kosta Zyu beat him(his name really slipped my mind). He leads with his right which is what your supposed to do with a southpaw. You guys really don't watch fights do you.

There's nothing that brilliant about it, every fighter leads with rights on a southpaw. The point is he only looks for one right hand at a time which isn't going to do it. That's exactly what Clottey tried to do with Pacquiao. You really think FLoyd's going to get away with popping off one right hand and going into a shell for 12 rounds against Pacquiao?

Floyd also stopped using the leaping left hook against Mosley, because Mosley knew how to block it. According to gander tasco's logic, the leaping left hook now must not work on orthodox fighters either.

^ show me one bit of footage where Floyd threw a lead left hook on a southpAw (not a counter shot). That shot just isn't effective on a southpaw. If it was Floyd would be doing it more often.

Bro youre pulling a Chimba on me. Youre saying one thing to make a point then changing your mind when I expose for not knowing what youre talking about. You just said he throws lead left hooks against Zab which he didn't and no other south paw he's faced. Now youre trying to act like its common knowledge and nothing great. Like I asked Chimba.Get your story straight then come more correct next time. You like Chimba don't even study Floyds fights. BTW against southpaws Floyd doesn't pop the right one shot at a time. You just talking to make yourself sound like you know what youre talking about. He's much more agressive and offensive against southpaws more so than against conventional fighters. Heres your homework. Watch Corley. Then Zab. Then Sharba Mitchell then you'll get a way better ideal of what your talking about.

There's one example. You can even hear the loud noise of a successful impact.

The Pac that fought Marquez is very different form the Pac that fought Hoya and beyond. If you observe closely, he throws a lot of decoys to counter punch a counter punch. The right that shocked Hatton was a result of a decoy thrown by the right and he's doing that to Cotto all night.

:huh I said that it's common knowledge that a right hand is effective on a southpaw. I said that lead left hooks aren't effective against a southpaw. Learn to read other people's posts better so you can make a coherent response.

Floyd does throw hooks over the jab which a counter punch. Pacquiao does the same thing. When I say lead hook I'm talking about the kind of lead hook you see Floyd spamming in most of his fights which isn't very effective on a southpaw.

Yeah he is more aggressive against southpaws, which is kind of my point. That's plays right into pacquiao's hands. And he does usually only look for one right hand ... he throws 2 punches at max. You never see him put more then two punches together.

I'm pretty familiar with the Corley, Judah and Mitchell fights, I don't need to watch them again.

You're not watching good enough then. That was an 8 punch combo in that clip that floored Corley. 8 is four times 2. How the hell could you miss a moment like that in a fight? emmanuel isn't the only one who can throw combinations.
