I just want to know if any so-called Boxing fans here will admit to feeling satisfaction when Margarito was banned for a year.

    How did you feel?

Not really. I think he should have been banned for life, as well as his trainer.

Did you think Tyson should have been banned for life when he bit a chunk out of Holyfield's ear off?

Did you think Mosley should have been banned for life when he tested positive for illegal substances?

    Was I happy? No.

Do I think the punishment was justified? Damn straight.

    lol, yes, of course.

Possibly. I don't like cheating in a sport like boxing, where illegally wrapping your hands can (and is intended to) cause serious, permanant damage to your opponent. I also believe that Tyson's behaviour was a disgrace, unforgivable, and he should never have boxed again. Incidents like this drag boxing down much worse than performance enhancing drugs. Because Tyson and Margarito deliberately broke the rules in ways that were specifically intended to cause potentially permanant injury to their opponent. You can't say that about steroid use. No-one is going home with a brain haemmorhage or a chunk of their ear missing because their opponent is juiced up (as cowardly as it is for a fighter to use steroids).

Pretty much. I hated to hear that anything was wrong. But cheating, and ESPECIALLY loading gloves (if in fact that's what turns out to be the case) is pretty much unforgiveable.

The last thing I ever want to hear is that there is cheating in my sport. That said, I AM happy that he was found guilty and there was not a cover-up. The truth beats a lie any day in things like this.

I was heart broken. I mean who the **** do those assholes at the NSAC think they are banning Margarito just for trying to get a little advantage over his opponent. Just cause THEY say it's illegal doesn't mean anything. We Margarito fans know he did nothing wrong it was all in the name of oneupsmanship.

Call me old-fashioned, but I feel hand-wrapping is a more serious offence than steroid usage.

Perhaps because one is used to enhance one's own athletic performance; whilst the other is used to deliberately damage the other opponent physically.

Yes I know the same can be said in a round-a-bout way with steroid usage, since increased strength/power would mean an opponent gets hurt more often/seriously.

Still it's like the difference between drinking (illegal) orange juice and taking a sledgehammer to the squared circle for me.
