I have, but for those who have seen it, im interested in your thoughts and opinions, and perhaps comparisons to the other 3 fights that took place 2-3 years later. Believe it or not, this fight is very rare and the only rounds that exist on film are rounds 14 and 15.
They do have films of fights 1, 2 & 3 on file... Christ, ESPN Classics just showed clips of them fights last night...... I wanna know what the hell happened to the tape of fight # 4..... I read Walcott defended his title over Charles by way of boring / dull decision.... Never seen **** from fight # 4.........:-( MR.BILL:bbb:deal
I've watched film that was claimed to be the first fight but it was actually a different camera angle of the second fight. Walcott showed his moves in the final round but for the most part fought a little bit too "negatively". Never actually seen any real footage the first fight.
GreatA, rounds 14 and round 15 are the only two available rounds on film. I have them on DVD, ordered it from knockoutprom.com. I hope you get ur hands on it, so then you can upload it to youtube. it is very rare and not alot of collectors have this fight. ESPN did not even show the fight last night, they showed fights 2 3 and 4.
I have it, lot of booing, but like the annoucer said, these 2 were putting on a good show. As for the fight, not sure what to make of it, since I only seen 2 rounds.
I looked and I don't have that one. I have it in my scoring file, though, so I saw it. Don't ask me where since I can't seem to recall watching it. I know an 88 year old guy in Canada who has a large boxing film collection...mainly of Heavyweights, so I may have seen it courtesy of him, at one time or another. He has more Heavyweight fights than I do. Next time I see him I'll ask him if he has it. If it still exists, he just might. Anyway, I scored it 10-5 for Charles. He must have outworked Walcott completely in that one.
