Who here thinks that the fight between floyd-pac being off is a blessing in disguise?

then you have pretty much agreed with what I said, he wouldn't have the need to keep on fighting we won't get to see fights like shane, berto, williams, cintron. Pac would increase his legacy but there would be always haters and critics, plus everyone knows mosley or williams are more risky fights for floyd rather than pac.

Thats why I thought about things and I'm kinda glad after all, we get to see better fights, a win against pac only looks good on paper but lot of detractors can find ways and excuses to tarnish such a win, mosley, cintron, williams are all bigger fighters and more risky than pac

I agree on it been a blessing in disguise. Floyd get more credibility for beating Mosley than he would get for beating Manny. Mosley is the man at WW.

That won't happen. If he goes on to fight Margo, the winner of PW and Cintron will have this fight. If manny wants to prove himself at 154 he should fight Sergio Martinez...:yep

In response to thread title - No, not me.

It will be highly unlikely to get these 2 in the ring coming off 2 perfect performances like they did vs Cotto & JMM... this was the time, they fkd it up bigtime.

A fight further down the line can only lead to excuses, age, battleworn etc etc etc..... they missed the boat bigtime on this one & no matter which fight we get fed now, it will only ever be 2nd best (at best)

    Thats all.

I'd rather have 10 "2nd-best" fights in terms of public appeal than to have one "Superfight" and then a bunch of folks continuing to cherry-pick their careers in hopes for the big payday.

It depends of what happens next,if that forces fraud to finally fight Sugar Shane then i agree that it was a blessing in disguise, but i doubt that will happen.

but I don't think he'd care about proving himself at 154, no way they'd put him in with martinez, pac and his team are wise when it comes to selecting opponents, part of the reason i think why the fight with floyd fell through.

If foreman wins, they would put him in with pac despite how his team rejected it at first, he's like the david diaz at 154. If cotto wins, thats much more better for them. People will still pay for a rematch especially if its for a title at 154

i agree, it was only a superfight in terms of public appeal. its not really a pick em fight, almost everyone even floyd haters picks floyd to win

I didn't really read what you wrote in your OP (sorry lol) but by thread title I said no simply because Pac Mayweather was THE biggest fight in boxing since I don't know when. Sure Floyd can go fight Mosley but either way, it's not Pacquiao and if the fight between Pac n Mayweather never happens people will remember that more than Mayweather fighting Mosley - just my opinion.

I don't think Arum will budge. They have total control as to whether this fight happens or not. If the fight is gonna happen, it will be on Pacquiaos terms

In reply to the thread no I do not think it was a blessing in disguise, I can live with not seeing Mayweather fight again. I was really counting on Manny to whoop Floyds ass

If the blessing is that it will happen this year then yes...otherwise no.
