In my era i was more exposed to Trinidad, but from watching the youtube videos and listening to a lot of old school fight fans, i definitely have to give Hearns and Jackson there props. What Hearns did to Duran was amazing and had never before or since(excluding Durans loss to Joppy when he was ancient). But some of the knockouts produced by Jackson was just horrifying. these guys looked as if they had been shot by missles or cannons..lol, just incredible ...ur thoughts

Jackson had the best single-shot power IMO.

    1-JJ
    2-Hearns
    3-Tito

I'm not going against the grain here either, I'm afraid.

One part of me wants to argue for Hearns, but when I think of the various one punch KOs I've seen Jackson produce, I can't do it, even if Jackson didn't KO anyone the caliber of Duran. (And, in my opinion, couldn't.)

I'll go ahead with the popular rankings too, Jackson 1st, Hearns a close 2nd, and Tito 3rd.

I think Mugabi hit harder than all of them. Just a pure puncher.

As a matter of sheer opinion, perhaps Jackson. As a matter of career results, it's hard to pick Tito or Jackson over Hearns given that Tommy was knocking out some light heavy's and cruisers later in his career.

BTW - Not that it directly addresses how hard Hearns hit with the aforementioned, in a recent interview I conducted with Iran Barkley, "The Blade" indicated that Hearns hit far and away harder than Nigel Benn. Take that for what its worth.

In other words: close thread.

btw, Hearns over Duran was the epitome of onslaught at 154.

    Can't fault that list. (x6?)

I thought Hearns moving to 154 from 147 would be a complete beast but his performances at the weight were mixed as regards punch power.
