Both guys are big hitters. Some would say Benn would naturally have more power but I'm not so sure. Almost every time Jackson connected cleanly his opponents were KO'd. The only person who was able to take some flush punches and stay in the fight was McClellan but he was clearly hurt. Most other guys who managed to go long vs Julian or beat him were guys who avoided getting hit cleanly and I think McClellan was clearly damaged by the fight but at the end of the day Benn was a bigger guy so you expect him to have the bigger punch... right?

Jackson. Nigel was a banger but Jackson has to be on the all time list as a simply devastating puncher.

Benn won 6 out of the 14 fights he contested between 164 and 168lbs by stoppage, for a 43% KO ratio at SMW.

Benn was a monster puncher at MW and a decent/big hitter at SMW.

Anybody picking Benn I would be interested to see them tell it to Jackson’s face.

Well Jackson at 160 obviously hit harder than Benn at 160 despite Benn being a big puncher at the weight.

I agree Jackson was the bigger puncher of the two.

I just disagreed with your assertion that Benn had a very high KO % at SMW, as I don't consider 43% a very high KO %.

I would dispute that Benn was the bigger man here despite weight classes and where they started, Jackson's frame was bigger than Benn's.

During the course of his prime Jackson knocked everybody out except Thomas Tate. You have to go to the beginning and the end of his careers respectively to find his other decision wins.................

Ben was a really, really good hitter but Jackson was probably the hardest puncher in history.................

Is there another fighter with as many 1 punch KO's, as in actually rendering the opponent unconscious, as Jackson?

Both hit very hard . Benn at middle and Jackson L middle. I pick Benn at middle faster and more mobile. This fight should of happened and would of been awesome. Both are easily capable of sparking the other out at anytime. Would be like watching a car crash

Jacksonis my pick. At 154 pounds he took out durable fighters like Buster Drayton and Fracisco DeJesus as well as his classic one punch ko of Terry Norris and hurt the tough Mike McCallum during their 2 round brawl.

At 160 pounds he destroyed Herol Graham with a bolt of lightning, one round destruction of Ismael Negron (coming off a big win over Kronk´s undefeated and touted puncher Fabian Williams)and Dennis Milton (wins over McClelland and Olajide), decent Ron Collins and Wayne Powell (very reminiscent of the Herol ko)

Even after the punishing McClelland defeats he took out undefeated European Champion Agostine Cardomine with one punch in a fight he was starting to struggle in to win the middleweight crown for the 2nd time.

Benn was a terrific in your face fighter at middleweight (he matured more at 168 pounds) with thrilling ko´s. His one punch come from behind ko of Anthony Logan is brilliant. He was the 1st man to stop Robbie Sims and his one round win over Barkley was another classic.

He surprisingly took 8 rounds to stop faded Doug DeWitt and his power couldn´t turn the tide against Eubank or Watson in two amazing fights.

Julian Jackson vs Nigel Benn at middleweight would have been amazing. I don´t know who I´d bet on.

Jackson had more raw one punch power but Benn did more damage overall because he threw more and kept a better pace. At 168 Benn also had more defense. Benn was just a rougher guy in general. He also was not loath to utilize foul tactics.
