this is the way I see it, most of Cleveland's wins when he moved up in class were by the decision route and he has one TKO win over Terrel that was avenged, Terrel for me was a poor man's Pinklon Thomas with no power.

Marciano KO'd guy that were not getting KO'd prior to Marciano 43KO's in 49 fights and 5#1 contenders in a day with one Champion. Marciano has a much proven KO record against top competition.

As far as opponents being kind and talking about sparring sessions and fight where they were the winner not Cleveland, that's nice but the proof is in the pudding (who you KO'd in the ring, results, quality, etc.) Big Cat did not fair so great.

Exactly so all we can go on is their knockout record and Marciano comes up trumps.

Why not go head to head on an era of your choosing? Because I tell you now Sonny, I'm getting pig sick of your petty sniping.

Lay out your stall and let's get to it!

I think Williams was a very dangerous guy early with his speed, size and power . Rocky's size alone tended to dictate that he had to break guys down over rounds to get to them .. they both could seriously crack that's for sure ..

Why do you go there ? You spend time creating well researched lists and do some good work and then start accusing people of being racist when you cut your teeth for years defending a tiny white fighter who fought old men and justify his all time greatness .. just accept different perspectives and don't be like Mongoose with sniper attacks and then whine when rebuttled .. SQ, you are a good poster .. don't go personal.

I wouldn't put much weight on that, without doubting Moore's sincerity.

Now if two or three people said the same thing, I would sit up and take notice!

That is an interesting testimony, because outside of Louis, he fought a fair few Ernie shavers and Mac Foster types!

I recall reading that Moore said Marciano was NOT the hardest puncher he fought.

I recall seeing Walcott say Marciano hit harder than Louis.

I am not sure why this is worth debating to be honest.

Who literally hit harder of the two?

You could argue it either way.

Who was the more effective puncher of the two?

I doubt that there would be much debate on that.

So who really cares if Williams could have won a Rocky 4 style power test?

Exactly... In regards to KO's, it's not about who hits harder. It's about whose opponents get hit harder.
