Eddie told me that Dimitrenko doesn't hit hard at all, Povetkin hit very hard because of his great accuracy and Peters power was overrated. I can only tell what he told me.
So did he make a direct head to head comparison and say that Povetkin hit harder than Peter, or did he speak about them separately in more general terms? Eddie subjectively thinking it gets overrated isn't necessarily incongruous with him still acknowledging Peter to be the 2nd hardest hitter he fought. The statements "Povetkin's power is underrated and Peter's power is overrated", and "Peter still does hit harder than Povetkin" aren't mutually exclusive. Now, if he were to say Povetkin's shots actually felt harder...that would be worth a raised eyebrow..
Scar think Toney can survive Haye even at middleweight because no other middleweight could ko him?? Post something else, make me laugh.
I asked something like: is it true that Dimitrenko is a weak puncher, especially for his size, Povetkin a very hard puncher, because of his accuracy? and I was told, Peter's power was overrated. And he answered: wow, I agree 100% He also said that Wlad's has a very fitting nickname but the knockout came more from exhaustion and the shot he took in the second round was way harder.
Peter and it's not close. Peter put David down 3 times while Haye couldn't even stun him. Haye couldn't even KO Audley like an adult.
Not surprised to hear about the Power of Povetkin, and under Kostya he will of learned to hit even harder. Maybe this is why k2 are stalling.
I think some actually under rate Haye's power. Despite being a small heavy for this era, he is very heavy handed and explosive with it. One left hook was all that was needed to have a giant like Valuev staggering around like a drunk, he KO'ed Chisora when Helenius and Vitali could not put a dent in him. Haye also dropped and stopped Ruiz and only Tua has ever done that before and Tua is often regarded as one of the hardest one punch hitters ever. Haye has cracked some good chins. Peter has some impressive KO's against weaker opposition and clearly has power. Yes he did drop Wlad 3 times, something Haye could not do, but then Haye never got the chance to land as clean on Wlad as Peter did, as Wlad had not yet perfected his style or peaked yet. Hard to say who had the more one shot power, but I'd say Haye is the better puncher, due to his speed, and delivery of his punch.
I said it right. different kinds of power. Haye has the speed and surprised sharp power and Peter is more brute strength and leverage sort of like Tua, although Tua has a little of that sharpness and speed and surprise added in there.
Peter was out of shape for the Chambers fight though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXftLwgCwf4 A pity Peter didn't stay around this shape more often.
Peter was naturally heavier handed and was physically stronger. I'd give him the edge in raw power at heavyweight. Peter's structure for a guy 6-0 is comically big - he's a barrel. Haye has the edge in overall punching ability, though, and it's not close. His shots are thrown with better form and rotation, and thus have better snap and crispness. Haye also has the advantage in explosiveness and speed.
