    I'd edge towards Duarn.

Leonard's punching power is under-rated though.

    Simply answering the question: Duran.

Duran was a harder puncher at LWT than Leonard was at WWT, in other words in a p4p sense.

As far as who punched harder outright, I dont know, maybe Leonard.

I don't really understand what your problem is with me asking this question, but I think it's very close between Duran and Leonard in terms of punching power. It saddens me to have to agree publicly with someone I think is a bit of a sarcy *******, but of course I am aware that Duran was a better lw than Leonard was a ww, and that Duran is the greater fighter p4p, and that the Duran of the Brawl In Montreal was a better fighter h2h at ww than Leonard at ww. I know all this, as I am a massive Duran fan. Thanks for the wanky comments though.

So what your basically saying is Duran is a better 147 than Leonard?

    Are you clinically insane?

I'm not basically saying anything of the sort. Are you clinically illiterate? H2H is not P4P.

For me, the Duran of The Brawl In Montreal beats any version of Leonard at 147... because he did fight and defeat a peak version of Leonard.

The Leonard who fought Duran performed better than the Leonard who fought Hearns. I thought Leonard was pretty lethargic and generally reserved and unimpressive v Hearns save for 2 or 3 rounds. Leonard performed very well against Benitez, but I don't rate Benitez as being on the same level as Duran or Hearns.

Therefore, Duran beat a peak Leonard. Leonard did not beat a peak Duran, the Duran of the second fight was a different animal. The Duran of the Brawl In Montreal beats Leonard any night at 147 for me, because he did beat the best ww version.

    It's not rocket science mate.

Ray was all about sharpness and landing the unexpected punch. Duran could punch hard even at 168 if he could land. His right hand was underrated. His abilty to beat great fighters was overrated.

Leonard could hit and he's one of the best finishers i've ever seen. But c'mon, fellas. Duran was a wrecking ball at lightweight...knocking people's teeth out FFS.

Duran @ LW (and vs Davey Moore as well) had 2 foul his opponents in order 2 stop them most of d time , Leonard stopped Hearns , Duran , Benitez and a few more without fouling or correct me if Im wrong .

Duran had a bit more P4P power but Leonard could definately whack when he wanted to.

    Duran, but it's close.

You just always have to repeat the same anti-Duran sentiments, don't you?
