Who Hit Harder George Foreman Lennox Lewis Riddick Bowe Shannon Briggs

Orrrrr ... Foreman was seen as having an iron chin and Lewis as having an average chin at best. Going for broke against a guy that you think you can KO makes sense.

 

Always find it funny how fighters who claim the opponent they beat hits harder then the ones they lost to when if they lost by knockout. Make you wonder........

 

Riddick Bowe stopped Holyfield and Lewis did not. That does not mean Bowe hit harder than Lewis. Almost everyone on this forum would regard Lewis as hitting significantly harder than Bowe.


Lewis was ko’d by Rahman and McCall. Does that mean that Rahman and McCall hit harder than David Tua? Or Morrison? No.

 

So now Foreman has an iron chin? I thought Foreman’s chin wasn’t tested vs the super duper heavies that Lewis’s chin was tested against? lol. Moving the goal posts all the time.

 

Holyfield fought both Lewis or Foreman, and said the latter was the harder hitter of the two.

 

But don't you think its funny fighters never say the fighter who beat them hits the hardest? Its almost always someone they beat. Idk i always found that funny.

Foreman was dropped by young, dropped an almost KOed by Lyle an dropped an KOed by Ali. None of them hit harder than Lewis

The Young KD was Foreman losing balance. It was the end of a close fight Foreman was trailing and he was flailing for a last minute KD or KO. Young made contact and all but that happened because of the situation.

you liked post 129 in which the poster stated that Foreman was not more durable than modern shw like Fury or Joshua because he didn’t face 250 lb guys and now you are claiming Foreman has an iron chin.

which is it? Briggs had the power to hurt a modern super heavy like Lewis but couldn’t put a dent into Foreman. He was also more reluctant to attack Foreman. So if Briggs had the power to hurt shw like Lewis but not George, it either proves that Forwman hit as hard or harder than Lewis (which you deny) or that he does have a chin better than modern shw’s ( which you also deny)

Or, Foreman's chin improved a lot after:

1) He stopped dehydrating himself
2) He paced himself better
3) He put on weight
4) He started weight training
5) He gave more attention to his actual defence

 

He did plenty of weight training in the 70s. Not conventional weights but dude was strapping himself to a car and moving it around. That is just as arduous as any gym training.

you are grasping at straws here. No one goes from a not great chin to an iron chin due to adding weight or improving defense. Foreman took plenty of hard shots in the 70s and only went down due to cumulative shots (Ali landed a high number of head snapping shots before round 8) or vs a genuine knockout artist like Lyle who was going for broke.

The reality is Forwman had both comparable power to Lewis and also had much greater durability than bigger heavies like Dubois or Joshua or fury. This narrative that bigger fighters are more durable is simply untrue as Ali, Holmes, Foreman, etc already showed

 

You are living in a haystack.

And yet, as is clearly demonstrable, Foreman did exactly that. Believe your eyes.
