Both fought at similar weights with Louis being the bigger man. Jersey Joe Walcott who fought both fighters twice stated for one shot power Marciano was the harder puncher, What's your opinions?

I think that there is enough common opponent testimony to justify saying Marciano.

Louis koing Max Baer trumps Marciano's ko of Walcott but bomber Joe could drop his opponents from any range

Just as a side note, Louis said Baer hit him the hardest ever (but I believe it was slightly after the bell)

Quoted one, "Louis was faster with a barrage of punches. But Marciano hurt you more with one than Louis did with four." I'm not aware of anybody who shared the ring with both, in competition or sparring, suggesting that Joe was a harder puncher than Rocky.

I recall an article where both Dempsey and Louis said the Rock hit harder then either of them.

Its been done to death. The films and the testimony of opponents all say Marciano.

Incidentally, both referee Arthur Donovan and Louis himself said the hardest single punch of Joe's career was the uppercut which floored Uzcudun. Paulino got up at eight.

No common opponent that I'm aware of rated the power of Louis over that of Max Baer either.
