I think Lewis definitely does the job a lot quicker, whereas Marciano takes longer maybe even loses?

A 37 year old Marciano vs Vitali?

But then Byrd didn't really stop Vitali did he? He'd lost nearly every round before Vitali's shoulder gave way.

    Probably about the same .

Marciano was freakishly strong . All his knockout victims spoke in awe about his power .

He flat out quit against a light punching man he seriously outsized and whom he was clearly leading on points.

    That's the bottom line.:deal

to be fair, vits had mistakenly picked a highly skilled opponent, mistaking him for an easy target.

They both punched really hard and given a free shot they would both absolutely knock out any fighter. Do you need to punch any harder than that?

SHavers possibly hit harder than both but was he as effective as either champion? There is world class power and being effective with it. A Canon ball and a newspaper both kill an ant. The ant is as dead both ways.

Now Lewis was bigger so potentially he hit harder but was he anymore effective than Marciano? They both knocked out fighters of the highest level. Marciano had a shorter time at elite level but knocked out all his key opponents. All of them. Mavrovik, Holyfeild, Tua, Tucker all saw,the last bell against Lewis but to be fair Lewis had a longer resume and he did not get a second try like Rocky did with Lastarza and Charles. I guess the answer is they both hit hard.
