I think he means he had about 60 fights, won 40 and of those 28 by stoppage. It's much more experience then me anyways, I trained for 18 months and had a few sparring matches.
when you think about it, it makes sense that happens, i mean the force of the blow into the lower gut, kaboom!
If Waldo had committed to his punches with the reckless abandon that Shavers did (a tendency which cost Shavers victories as he met better fighters) than he probably would have hit off the charts. As it is, his right hand was f*cking stone hard. It's not just size and strength tho, it's the athletic ability to transfer that force and mass into a punch. A stiff, relatively unexplosive fighter like Carnera, or like Vitali after back and knee surgeries, can't do that. Wlad had the balance and coordination to pull it off at one time.
In my penultimate fight my trainers son came round to the corner in between the 2nd and 3rd round and told his dad my opponent had been puking up in corner. Id been slipping his right hands and left hooking his body. I should have stopped him but didn't when im in the corner with our kids i always look to see if their opponents knee come up when they've been hit to the body, its a sure sign they've been hurt
yeah i agree with you Seamus, Vladdy can hit when he wants to, maybe not as much anymore, hard to say, but the guy has great power when he lands.
Nothing you can do !!! The body can do 3 things if its hurt crumple like delahoya against Hopkins the knee comes up or you bend over the knee
