Who hit harder Tyson or Butterbean??

I don't know but i think Tyson could punch harder than wladimir klitschko
by a F. Botha opinion. Botha was in the ring with Tyson and wladimir klitschko.
I think Botha is a wise experienced man.I trust in Botha's opinion.

Tyson was 18-19 years old when he fought the trial horses of his career and knocked most of them out in one round. Butterbean was a fully matured adult when he debuted and fought the same sort of garbage his whole career.. Shame his people underestimated the 1-7 Pete Rose. Bean could have broken Marciano's record !!!!!!

 

We know two things:

1. Tyson ducked The Bean in order to fight McNeely
2. The Bean gave McNeely a worse beating than Mike did

There's a clear choice here.

There exists among those who usually have not traded blows this idea that someone shows in the ring with only one asset, "power", that tilts entirely the playing field of the sport, that it is all some combination of synapses and musculature.

Sorry, folks, power is not some mystical predilection. It is the ability of landing the right punch at the right time. It is instinct. It is putting quality opponents in danger quickly. Judge upon this basis henceforth or look the part of the idiot.

 

My god, Louis Monaco even has more power than Tyson. He at least knocked out Douglas, even if it was after the bell.

 

Of course Tyson had little to fear from Butterbean, he was not in the same Galaxy as Lewis as a threat. Who likely DID hit harder than him for single punches, je had top tier power. But very limited skills, his offense was his only defense, limited endurance, could certainly be KOed.

Ability to win or KO a man is what is important, that is effective power.
But it is foolhardy to judge who hits harder by KOs, power is merely one component of this. Accuracy, speed, combinations, defense (so you do not get Koed first), ring generalship footwork & more play a big part.
