For 1 punch power it is probably Ruddock. But, Ironically, I rate Ruddock as the third best puncher in that grouping in terms of effectiveness. He was just too predictable. Dempsey and Bowe were both better at putting together combinations of damaging punches.
Although Ruddock was a bit one-handed in terms of power, he definitely had one-punch power in that left hand. Bowe had very good power but not Ruddock's power, Golota's was similar to Bowe's. Dempsey was powerful for his size but these guys are much bigger men.
Obviously ruddock, but he often winded up his shots, neglected his right and didnt throw combinations as much as he should. Bowe and dempsey were more effective punchers and had better coordination, timing, etc and that matters more than just having raw destructive power and not knowing how to use it. Golota shouldnt be on the list. He had talent but lost every time he stepped up...even when he was winning!
Dempsey definitely....great power is born he had...Ruddock not so...he could bang but not like Dempsey...just the way it goes
Ruddock is obviously the hardest puncher of that bunch though not necessarily the best puncher, as another poster said. Quite predictable in his offence and never that effective in combinations. Terrific left hand power though, really corckscrewed the heck out of that shot and caused some major damage. Golota could bang but tended to hold back to maintain his form. Bowe had power but his sloppiness took the edge off it. Hard to really separate these two. I'm tempted to just put them on the same level, though if forced to choose I'd go with Bowe. Dempsey was too small to compete with any of the above.
