    Here's the thing;
    1. Lennox Lewis was the bigger man, his dimensions allow for him to land from the outside without being smothered. Tyson generally had to work harder to land his shots because he was almost always the smaller man in the ring.

    2. With the exception of Golota, Tyson fought better versions of each one of those guys and for the most part he got to them first. Also Lennnox was not regarded in the same manner that Tyson was regarded and therefore they may not have taken him as seriously as they did Tyson. Bruno says so himself when he claimed that he'd rather fight Lennox Lewis everyday of the week than have 1 more round with Tyson.

I believe Tyson had better power and a better delivery system. Before thier fight in 2002 all of Tyson's common opponents with the exception of Botha and Ruddock (Razor claimed its 50/50) backed Tyson to win especially Holyfield who fought them both. Additionally Holyfield and Bruno claimed that Tyson did in fact hit harder.

Tyson has a better chin than Frazier which is why it was much harder to put him down.

Tyson decided to stay down against Lewis because he knew he was a spent force, he didnt want to continue taking a beating knowing well that he no longer had the ability to retaliate. Against Williams he had a torn meniscus.

    Anyway that is off topic.

    Tyson's 1 punch KO's over ranked opponents.

    Francios Botha
    Carl Williams
    Tony Tubbs
    Trevor Berbick
    Clifford Eittienne

    Foreman 1 punch KOs are?

Well Foreman knocked out more guys than Tyson even fought, so he must have knocked out someone. Frazier comes to mind off the top of my head. The Lyle fight was also impressive considering he was the last man standing.

Foreman, he was extremely heavy handed, all it usually took was one punch for Foreman to get you out of there. I did a little reading about Foreman, in one report I read many people didnt want to hold the punching bag for Foreman because of how hard he hit, they ended up asking Everlast to make George a heavybag that was 400 pounds, so when he hit it didnt move as much.

If the criteria is the ability for one punch to render a man unconscious I would have to lean Big George's way. :smoke :smoke

Foreman. Pretty clear one punch power edge, though Tyson certainly hit very hard.

tyson's right hand on botha was as impressive as any right hand that foreman threw. yet, foreman threw more of those type right hands than tyson because when tyson was at his best - he relied on speed & power to land quick series of punches to take down an opponent. foreman put his full brute power on display more often than tyson.

in any case - i'd say both are top tier and it's pointless to discriminate between the two.

yeah, the whole lewis hitting harder than tyson argument is kind of weak. lewis often fought guys that were not the same after beatings from tyson (ruddock, biggs, tucker). tyson changed forever ruddock & biggs. tony tucker himself stated that in 1993 he wasn't nearly as good as 1987 and so while he could roll with tyson's punches, he didn't have that ability 6 yrs later so lewis had an easier time. yep, lewis & tyson and common opponents - kind of weak. besides, why so conveniently ignore bruno? lol. that outlier DOES indicate something.

    George Foreman

Tyson had better technique, however, Foreman did just as much damage relying on brute strength. Just imagine if a young George learned how to properly sit down on his punches. He would have killed half his opponents.

Your comments stink of anti Lewis spin!!

It is ridiculous to say Tyson fought better versions

He got to them first?? In what way? Lewis chronologically fought them after Tyson. To say they were all lesser fighters when Lewis fought them is just convenient pro Tyson doggerel

You ignore the facts that Lewis was a much more destructive force, when his and tysons common opponents are compared. That is a fact, no weak excuses, just plain facts!

Your assumption that Lewis's opponents did not take him seriously, if anything could be spun the other way.
Many of Tysons opponents were beaten before the fight, Bruno for instance in the 2nd Tyson fight was petrified, he must have genuflected about 50 times between walking to the ring and the bell and looked bewildered. If Lewis faced that version of bruno he would have finished withing 2 rounds. How about the incredibly focused Seldon???

Really, think about the straws you are clutching at here. You are claiming that Tysons opponents did better against Tyson than against Lewis because they tried harder against Tyson!!

Excuse me while I laugh like a drain...

So you're basically saying that Mike Mollo and TOS are capable of doing something that a prime Tyson would not?
I kid you not, you're out of line... Tyson is just about even with Lewis when it comes to generating power in one punch.
Look at Frans Botha, and tell me that Mollo or even TOS are stronger punchers.

what he said about the opponents is accurate: tucker was 29 when tyson faced him and 35/36 when lewis fought him; biggs had been stopped 2 or 3 times after tyson before lewis fought him. golota is a wash and although lewis stopped him, tyson broke his cheekbone and made him quit.
