i was just watching tyson - holyfield 2 and the razor ruddock fights, purely for entertainment. he couldnt move holyfield with his punches, holyfield seemed the harder puncher too, not saying he was but it looked that way. he couldnt seriously hurt ruddock who morrison sparked with one left hook. i say tyson hit very hard but his punching power isnt near someone like foreman, shavers, tua or bruno. tyson doesnt punch soft either, he hits harder than lamon brewster imo. brewster couldnt even knockout ettiene and we saw what tyson did to him with 1 punch. quite a few people who fought him said they never been hit harder, that shows he can definetly bang with some power, it doesnt show he can bang harder than a foreman cos them guys hadnt faced foreman either.
Ruddock was shot when he fought Morrison. Ruddock was at his best when he faced Tyson. Tyson hurt him badly in both fights, he just fought galantly. Ruddock looked like the elephant man after the second Tyson fight, I think Tyson broke every bone in his face.
Yeah I see what your trying to say, but I seen the Brewster/Eitenne fight live in 2000 in pittsburgh. Brewster/Eitenne was a great fight, they both threw very hard punches with both men getting rocked. I think every fights different, by the time Tyson got to him in 03 his chin had already been cracked, plus Tyson hit him with a well timed hook. I think Tyson hits extremely hard, but not quite as heavy handed as Foreman though. Tyson 88 was not too far off, with the combination of power and speed = a extremely hard punch.:yep
A great quote from a book on the Ali-Foreman fight. Per Eddie "Bossman" Jones (sparring partner for Foreman): "Some fighters have the power to hurt or stun you. Some have the power to break bones. But George has the power to kill you, and he knows it."
the diffrence is speed here i think effect would b comparable...very diffrent types of power and effect...in delivery also
foreman easily. tyson's punches looked a lot nicer and they would land clean, but even glancing blows from big george would hurt.
Different type of power. Foreman was alot stronger in terms of brute strength but Tyson had the better technique and had major pop in his punches. Foreman just had very heavy hands and created thudding noises when he landed. He had the type of punch to do damage internally while tyson's punches would knock a guy out clean without taking too much punishments. Foreman does more damage.
