Poll should have been public. Secondly, I believe it is fairly clear that Abraham punches harder, and that can possibly just be attributed to the swings he takes. Either way it is clear that both men have punching power.

Yeah. Sure. If we voted on the answer to 2 + 2 the morons on this site would come up with 5. Does that make it the correct answer. We can only go by the common opponent here. That is the best evidence we have. The rest is people making educated guesses trying sound like they know more than they do.

Both can punch very well but I think Abraham has slightly heavier hands. I also like the fact Abraham has excellent two-fisted power as evidenced against Miranda. Pavlik seems only effective with his power left when he throws it in combination with his right hand. Abraham can end fight with one lead punch in either fist

that left hook he catches miranda with is nasty :yep

In the 1 punch power department Arthur is "the king" for sure (and not only at middleweight, also at super middleweight)...

If the question would've been who is the more effective puncher up to now I would say Pavlik (he has the better KO ratio against some guys that have never been down before).

If the question would've been who is more dangerous in general I would slightly lean towards Abraham, because he'll always have a chance against any opponent. He only needs one or two big shots whereas Pavlik usually needs a lot more...

He was struggling to land cleanly against Rubio who basically stood in front of him, I dont think he's an accurate puncher really. His workrate is that high he lands out of volume in my opinion.

Abraham will be a good fight as he's not a slick mover, neither is Pavlik, so it would be a war... this needs to be made!

Abraham = left hook and right hand

    Kelly Pavlik = jab

It is also untrue to say he needs the wild swings... these only happen after a short straight punch does the most damage and he is going for the finisher.

Actually i am not even sure that Pavlik is the more accurate puncher ... i think it is actually pretty close ... it is just that Pavlik has a way better work rate with very respectable power that wears people down.
Abraham has more concussive 2 handed power.

Small correction to my last post though is that the 2nd fight was at a higher catchweight (by Mirandas request) where i suspect Abrahams power being greater as he has a very hard time making 160.
Pavlik being more comfortable at the weight evens things up just a little.

Daaaamn.. I agree AA has the better punch, but 41 to 4 in the poll... ouch.. nobody believes in Pavlik anymore huh?

Remember after Miranda and Taylor I, Pavlik was dubbed the "White Tommy Hearns"

I guess after his last 3 fights, some nuthuggers have come to their senses..

Abraham is dangerous for 3 minutes of the whole 12 rounds, evidenced by his KTFO of Gevor in the 11th or 12th and ayala in the 12th. Pavlik is a heavy handed accumulation puncher. AA has power in both fists, and arguably p4p no1 right now in punching category. One thing I did notice in the Pavlik Rubio fight is that Pavlik is not as accurate a puncher as most claim him to be, and abraham is actually in my opinion more accurate, but it has to do because he does throw a lot less. Anyway I voted for abraham but Pavlik is an accumulation boxer that has KOed a lot of fighters we were never down before!

Sometimes, he takes off a whole round & just sits back in his "wannabe Winky Wright" defense. Have you seen his fights? He fights in spurts.

you AA fans are dumb. I know more about him than you guys do and I'm not even a big fan.

Pavlik has heavy hand's and throw's most of his punches with malicious intent, he will grind down most of his opponent's over the course of a fight.
However Pavlik does occasionally show one punch knock out power as Jose Luis Zertuche would testify.
Abraham though is much more patient and measured, he take's his time feeling his way into fight's and throw's his big shot's much less frequently. He could be out of a fight completely but still has the ability to change a fight with one punch so i would tend to go with Abraham.
