I don't know the test and the article only says what I summarized. There are no stats or charts or comparisons to other fighters. As I said before, no details are available.

I have to agree, because it is a fact that Pav has the higher KO ratio.

Wrong, totally wrong. Just watch how Abraham knocked down Miranda with a short hook. Only when his opponents are hurt does Abraham throw looping punches. Once he is in range, his hooks and uppercuts are devastating. He has better body mechanics for one punch power than Pavlik, who still hits very hard for a lanky guy. Abraham is a very economical fighter who doesn't miss a lot.

Can you provide any sources? Remember it was a p4p comparison. Nobody says he hits harder than Mike Tyson :)

King Arthur has bigger one punch power in his money hand. Pavlik has better two fisted power and he puts something on every single punch. I would say his jab is harder also.

I would rather have the kind of power Pavlik has over Abraham.

AA has more power in both of his hands and he puts something on every single punch as well. Pav's punching power is more effective up to now.

    :huh

I think people have described it quite well from the very beginning: AA has more one-punch power, but he might not be as effective a "puncher" at stopping high-class opponents as Pavlik. Pavlik breaks people down with hard shots but doesn't try to blow people out with one off shots. AA commits to big one-off shots. His style is such that even if they both had equal maximum one-off power, AA would employ more power in one-off shots more often.

    Surely, no?:think

KO ratios are neither here nor there when it comes to assessing pure power accurately, not least because if you don't get to land/have a poor chin, you cannot KO many people, even if you hit like superman. :deal

If we are talking one punch power then the answer is Abraham. Kelly has a higher KO percentage, but his power, as pointed out before, comes from breaking guys down. Abraham doesn't have to break someone down, he just needs one well placed shot to end the fight.

If Abraham finally made the move to 168, where I believe there are better fights and more money for him, we would see the full potential of his concusive power.

I assume that kilonewton is the same as pounds per square inch, in which case it would mean that Arthur lands at 880 pounds per square inch, Chris Byrd lands at 1254 pounds per square inch (which is actually very respectable for a heavy), and the UFC fighter lands at 1320 psi (which is very high indeed).

That doesn't seem entirely right as I would assume Arthur hits in the 1000 psi range.

I remember Abraham vs Demers. Demers was blocking Abraham's punches and it still looked like he was being hurt so bad. It was brutal. Demers looked like a 12 year old girl fighting Megatron.

Pavlik has alot of power but not as much as AA who is probably the hardest p4p puncher in the sport.

So, we need to get another guy from Youngstown, Ed O'Neill to come and give Kelly a few acting lessons if this fight ever takes place and it is all over then. Maybe next time Ed is in town he will run into Kelly at the Y. That's the last place I saw Ed. Much like Kelly's dad Mike, Ed didn't remember me either. I seem to be a really forgettable guy.
