actually he stopped Lyle without throwing much actually he was very passive during that fight

he came out for the last round and just caught Lyle and never let him off the hook but the initial punch that got him in trouble was a great shot

Ali didnt throw too many punches to get rid of Folley or Big Cat either

im not putting him on this big puncher pedestal but he isnt feather fisted

I agree. He also is the only fighter to KO Foreman. And he nearly took Oscar Bonavena's head off with a single left hook in the 15th round of their fight, demonstrating he could take his power late. I think Ali's issue was he rarely sat down on his shots. When he did, he could hit with very decent power indeed. To call him the Malignaggi of the heavyweights is unfair. He could be, and was, devastating in his prime with fast, accurate, and hard punches from all sorts of angles.

As for the thread; for one punch power, Haye hit harder.

You know George Foreman once compared Ali's punching power to that of Evander Holyfield. Well, technically he compared Holyfield's power to Ali. In any case, Ali wasn't a 1 punch fighter and it's unlikely that he hit as hard as David Haye but I'm suspicious of the motive of these threads between a fighter who is known as a puncher and a fighter who was never known for his power. I'm suspecting that this thread is a covert attempt to aggrandize the K Brothers and their opponents against the greats of yesteryear but comparing attributes one by one in order to compile an argument to crown Wlad the greatest.

Shavers vs Wlad in punching power.
Haye vs Ali in punching power.
Wlad vs Ali in punching power.

    Seems awfully suspicious.

In sheer punching power probably Haye.

In actual abillity to hurt his opponent: Ali.

Ali. HE had deceptive power...Haye was a beast at Cruiser but beat a buncha bums at HW.

Okay, what has he done that would make anyone think he could hit as hard as Ali. At CW, yes he hits hard, but at HW? Ruiz was on his way out and Barret? They call him the haymaker because he actually throws them. Ali would pick him apart and then stop him with or without hurt toes.

Where you read that from a comic book? Ali had decent power, but also the HW's back then had tougher whiskers. Someone like Lyle would crush Haye.

 You are idiot if you think that, his power is underrated for sure, but you are clearly delusional!!
