For me Tyson hit harder with single shot power. Tua hit harder overall . But it's so very close between them.
If both hit a static target as hard as they could, Tua's punch would be marginally harder. If both threw the same punch, with identical leverage and proportion of their body weight behind it, Tua would be marginally harder. In reality, Tyson's punches were usually harder, because his extra speed meant he could typically throw with more leverage and/or a greater proportion of his body weight behind his punches.
Probably Tua, who in general was heavier than Tyson. Tyson's main ingredient was speed and accuracy of his blows, especially in his prime. Tua's power one shot for one shot is possibly top 10 - 15 in heavyweight history.
I think Tua by a small margin,,Though I think Tyson would win , I always thought Tua would be a dangerous fight for Tyson as he'd have to go straight at Tua.
This is a good take. I think Tyson set up his punches better too. I actually think Tua may have had a substantial edge in raw dynamite, but he just didn't place the punches as well as Tyson. When he did connect flush and on the right spot his power was ****ing nuclear. Let's not forget this sort of thing This content is protected I'm not much of a Ruiz fan but I will say the man was a tough hombre. Tua tore through him like tissue paper.
Yeah I have to agree with the consensus here: Tyson was a better fighter in many, many ways, and a more effective puncher. But raw power in a single shot, I’d rate Tua slightly higher.
Tua hit a bit harder. Tyson was faster, more accurate , better combinations. If you compared their best single shot though, I think Tua generates a harder punch.
Tua had more raw power and probably brute strength, Tyson has fundamentals and attributes (accuracy, speed, endurance, combinations, efficiency) which adds to his power which could give him an edge
It depends what you mean. Tua could probably hit a punching machine harder, but Tyson had the magic confluence of hand speed, power, technique, and surprise, since he had a great arsenal.
