Correct me if Im wrong, but did Monte Barrett who has fought them both said they hit equally hard? Wlad is probably stronger & Haye a little faster but both guys can bang
How can this possibly be a poll unless you have been hit by both? It's like asking who's the best ****, Paris or Christina?
Oh Jesus man:roll: if that's the case this forum hardly did exists? Wlad hits harder because of the chicken Chef feeds him.
Haye is a monster in terms of punching power, he along with Wlad are the 2 biggest punchers in the division which is surprising when you consider Haye is such a small heavyweight compared to the rest of the division. I am surprised how his power has transferred over from cruiser to heavyweight so well. Adamek isn't the puncher at heavyweight that he was at the lower weights but Haye for some reason is just as capable of turning a fight around with one punch as he was at cruiser. But Wlad for me is the harder puncher. Despite his now cautious style he is still capable of ending a fight dramatically with one good punch at any point during the fight. He dominates behind the jab in a rather monotonous manner then out of the blue cripples his opponent whenever he decides to end it.
For the ones who take the "you gotta be hit by both to know" route... Can't you tell the difference between a Shavers punch and a Lawrence punch without having been hit by both also? There's quite a lot of other measure points than simply take a hit from any of them, if it was as black/white as Shavers/Lawrence there wouldn't be a poll about it here... But it is pretty clear.
Wlad, a lot of the time he doesn't even fully commit to his shots, and the still rattle opponents. Haye tends to load up moreso on his punches, sometimes causing him to go off balence. Actually it's a credit to him that he lands those shots even though they are loaded up. Also as has been said several times, Wlad can and will knock an opponent out, whereas Haye tends to stun/drop them and then go utterly nuts winging shots, occasionally connecting with the back of the head.
There appears to be more of a surprise effect on fighters after Haye's punches. The opponents seem less prepared to taken them when he lands. Just like Helenius' punches on Peter. They didn't look like Helenius put 100% into them but Peter didn't see them coming and that doubled or tripled their devastating effects. If you put Wlad and Haye on some machine to measure physical punching power Wlad probably comes out on top. But that's only half the story with regard to their ability to knock down/out their opponents in the ring.
Clearly to see wich guy the majority believe to be the harder puncher. Otherwise it also would be ludicrous to have polls with; Wich of these guys is the better fighter H2H, who's faster or wich of these guys has the better defence. It would disqualify most of boxing's discussions. And this one is pretty relevant at the moment.
