Vic Ortiz can hit hard. and Lopez took his punches very well. im not sure if canelo has ortiz power, maybe he does but i seen plenty alvarez fights and i just remember him knocking out Baldomir n i think he took care of rhodes late in there fite but that might have been a UD. and ortiz is always rockin somebody.

where im getting at is if lopez can take the shots from ortiz , do u think he can take canelos. n maybe use his speed to his advantage n makes this competitive . even tho lopez is jumpin up again,

i really want lopez to win but i think hes gonna hurt in there.

    IMO

Canelo has heavier hands, meaning that all his punches hurt, constant punishment.

Ortiz has good KO power in his straight left and right hook, everything else is normal power(by professional standards)

This and canelo consistently focuses on the body as well.

Plus, Your Intimidated by Canelo, because the guy barely talks, and the red hair.

Nobody is afraid of Ortiz, and his mohawk.

SERIOUSLY??? Come on, it's not even close. Canelo is a naturally bigger framed guy, and he puts a lot more torque in his punches. Take a look at some of their fights, and you'll agree. Canelo is flat footed, and much more balanced.:smoke:smoke:smoke:smoke:smoke:smoke:smoke:smoke:smoke:smoke

Sorry guys, I'm going the other way on this one. Yes, in reality Canelo probably hits harder due to being a bigger guy, but P4P Ortiz hits harder. Ortiz has dropped just about everyone he has faced and his competition has been much better than Canelo's.

P4P Ortiz is a bigger puncher especially when you consider his level of opposition in comparison to that of Canelo's. However this is NOT P4P, Canelo is the bigger man with the heavier hands so he will have more power than Ortiz.

Canelo places his shots on the target better, in my opinion. He seems to throw his shots with better technique putting more weight behind all his shots.

The better question is Who can take a better shot?

I think Canelo can take Josecito's best shots. Lopez is going to be too small for a natural stout 154 kid like Alvarez. I'm seeing a repeat of the Mosley fight here.

Spot on, Canelo is more of a Marciano in terms of power. Every punches are thrown with lots of power behind them. Ortiz's got more snap in his punches, more like a guy like Pacquiao. It means more flash KD and less predictability... with guys like Canelo when you are down you're in REAL trouble.

I'd say Canelo just because of natural weight.

who bigger? canelo. who faster? canelo. weight + speed = power. so canelo takes this one.

The size difference between Canelo and Ortiz is minimal, you ppl talk as if Ortiz is dwarfed by Canelo or something, Ortiz is huge for a welter, this is the same guy who weighed 164lbs on fight night against Floyd remember?

That been said, I think Canelo has heavier hands, but Ortiz is a more explosive puncher. I'd say they're even in terms of power, barring Canelo's left hook which is a show stopper if it lands.

No way, Ortiz is much faster than the flat footed Canelo

Canelo has better technique and way better mentality but Ortiz is clearly the superior athlete
