I know the easy answer to this is "ask Chisora" but for me Chisora fought a much smarter fight against Vitali than he did Haye. He targeted Vitali's body and didn't let up in pressure. Against Haye, he let his guard down so stupidly, many times. He did pressure Haye well, but didn't throw enough and when he did they were very sloppy punches. He definitely let the emotion of that fight get the better of him, in my opinion.
Chisora... -against haye was charging more , amped up & fighting like a bull. -was more safety 1st against vitali
One punch power is haye due to speed and angles vitali however has much better stamina even now then haye and will throw 800+ hard punches in a full fight if you stand in front of him as opposed to Hayes 200 very hard ones. Even though Haye hits harder vitali's workrate and good power make him more likely to stop you.
Exactly, he was a lot better defensively against Vitali. Chisora has since said when he rewatches the Haye fight he is very disappointed as he can see all the defensive lapses and says he fought "angry"
Prime for prime Vitali.... currently Haye but thats due to a bunch of surgeries. People forget Vitali did have 1 punch KO power.
I'd say Vitali is naturally more 'heavy-handed' with more clubbing, acculmalitive type power. Haye throws his power shots with more explosiveness, perhaps has more 1 punch power but its hard to judge (different kind of power).
Who hits harder in a physical sense, when measuring sheer force? Probably Vitali. What people forget in these "Who hits harder" arguments is also handspeed. Fast hands can make it hard for a boxer to see a punch coming, thus allowing for a much more devastating effect. Haye may not punch harder yet his single hands can still be more devastating that old Vitali's slower punches. Another good example is Robert Helenius. Probably not the hardest puncher in the game but he has a way of throwing punches that people tend to get caught off-guard with.
Now it's obviously Haye. Not sure who hit harder prime for prime. Vitali was never about putting guys to sleep.
He once did punch a little harder, by saying he had 1 punch power you imply that he had equal power to the likes of Wladimir or Lewis which clearly isnt true. P4P Haye has always been the quicker more explosive puncher but when you factor in the size of Vitali its difficult to decipher if both were to land a perfect shot exactly who would have the most force behind it. I lean towards Haye although i think Vitali can sustain his power longer over the course of a fight. This would be why Haye has a lower punch output, if he can counterpunch he can take full advantage of the explosiveness over the duration of a match.
Haye is without the more explosive puncher at this stage. Prime for prime I am not sure, probably about the same. Vitali is/was a more skilled offensive fighter though.
